Brand New (http://www.brandnewrock.com) has posted "You Won't Know" from The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me on their Myspace (http://www.myspace.com/brandnew) page.

Who should Rohan run all his posts through? You want the job? Want to take over my news posting decisions as well? I have about 700 emails and close to 40 other submissions for you to go through -- lemme know where I should fwd these.

I thought they said they had posted a video for "You Wont Know"
I got excited

Easy there, tiger. All I'm saying is that a band whose album has already been out for a little over a month doesn't need a new post every single time their myspace gets updated. If it was an upcoming album, it would be a different story.

And sure, I'll sift through all the news. If you'll pay me.

Nope, you have to do it for free. Why would you be paid?

Cause you get paid to go through those 700 emails and 40 news submissions?

The reason I posted it is because we had like 7 submissions about it - figured it would stop people from sending it in.

its called ad money, welcome to the internet and how it works.

surely you didn't think this site was done with no revenue, i mean the dude doesn't have a job outside of this so he must make decent money from ads...

lets get back to brand new for a moment, and worry about tates salary later. if you dont want brand new on your news, ignore them.

So what if Tate makes money off the site? Would you enjoy getting paid for what you do... YES. And it's not like you're paying out of your pocket, so that's enough about the money issue. And THIS WAS a newsworthy post. Myspace is a popular website, and I guarantee 80% of people on this website own a myspace. I also know there are a high percentage of Brand New fans on this website, resulting in the fans wanting to have their favorite bands song on their myspace. I can't believe people bitch about news posts, it is completely ridiculous. Get a life. This is the first time I've ever replied to any of these complaints, and I usually just laugh it off, but it really bothers me.

Something tells me that the servers for this site, along with the amount of work it takes to keep everything up (layout, etc)...doesn't exactly leave enough money for tate to buy investement property. Plus anyway, there are so many people in this world who live off of their websites revenue. Yeah, I guess I must be doing it wrong then because the ads on my website pay FOR the website to run between servers, the domain, the scripting and a million other things.

Yeah.....thanks for proving my point.

The rest of your post makes just as little sense as the first sentence. If Brand New had posted an unreleased song, or a b-side, or something else equally new and exciting, it would be totally newsworthy. Making threads every time Brand New posts a song already included on an album released a month ago, and that is widely available for purchase or download is just a waste. Like you said yourself, there are a lot of BN fans here, so it would be completely reasonable to assume that most kids didn't get anything new out of this thread.

James Brown's death is newsworthy. Jack's Mannequin's new online EP is newsworthy. An update on the upcoming Thrice or Say Anything albums would be newsworthy. I'm really not trying to rip on anyone on the staff, and if it came off that way, I'm sorry. That said, I stand by my previous statements.

I forgot to slip in the "love to" for the first sentence, that's why it didn't really make sense, so I understand why you mocked the statement. But I, as a Brand New fan, am happy to know they put that song on the website. And I'm glad they posted about it. Now, for instance, I can direect my friends to their new stuff if they ask about them in a legal way, rather than burning a CD.

Really, the bottom line is, is it THAT BIG OF A DEAL to scroll over a news post that you label "unworthy". It takes a maximum 10 seconds to read a news post, and that is pushing it. So quit bitching.

I've seen other sites post the same kind of shit. These being the websites that post news about 1/4 as much as this one. Your argument is retarted considering you can spend less time searching for news as you can scrolling half way down the front page of this site.
