AbsolutePunk.net was once again named (http://www.absolutepunk.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=14653&d=1167368531) the 2nd "best message board (http://www.absolutepunk.net/forumdisplay.php?f=2)" in Alternative Press' upcoming issue. We are runners up (again) to the magazine's own boards -- so I'm going to just claim victory! Thank you to everyone out there that voted for us and that visits the website on a daily basis. I really appreciate it and I hope to continue making AP an even better place in 2007. This community is for you - and it's my goal (and job) to try and give you the best experience possible.

I used to be on the AP message board. Never was a big poster, and this is why:
- EVERYONE is a troll. If you're a opinion somewhat differentiates from the rest of the group, they all let you know with several insults. It's pathetic the "fraternity" they've developed over there.
- The only way to gain cred is to add to the trolling.
- No one really talks about music. Go to the board itself, and you'll see someone talking about a band, then 10 people telling them that A) they suck and B) The person mentioning them needs to jump off a bridge.

Hopefully this will be a better community than altpress.

It's not a contest. I never told anyone to vote for us - I told people about the survey and said we'd love people's consideration (my exact words) for the online categories.

As for "dignity" - it depends on what qualities you respect in a person. I have no problem with someone asking for help and would never look at someone as "less" for having done so -- therefore, I'd disagree with your statement.
