there's enough 360 fanboyness all over the internet and how GOW is 1337, better than PS3 and its R:FOM. i have 360 and its game and i know how they are, but not ps3 and resistance.

biased PS3 owners, here's your time to shine. lay it on me: how is ps3 better than 360 and R:FOM better than GOW?

I own both. Simply, it's not better. Resistance is fun, Gears is twice the game however. I'm not even a fanboy, I didn't even really like the first X-Box.

I've played both games, and Gears of War is the better game, but Resistance is right behind it by a hair.

Resistance is pretty much your average first person shooter. Even with that being said, Insomniac Games did create one of the only games worth owning for the PS3. Why? The online play. Ranking up and getting new outfits/helmets/etc. is pretty damn fun. The only drawback is the fact that no one really owns a bluetooth headset (which makes "team-play" not really that fun...). Since it's the first in the franchise, the sequel(s) will definitely improve a lot of the quirks in the game. Seeing the same 3 death animations over and over for the aliens gets to be pretty monotonous. Especially, when Goldeneye had pretty damn perfect ragdoll physics.

Gears of War is, in my opinon, the best co-op game ever made. Online isn't the greatest/most versatile, but it's still pretty damn fun. Over on Kotaku, there's been rumors of updates/patches. Maybe they'll add in a little capture the flag?

From what you say, Resistance seems kickass online. is the bluetooth headset the only option for a headset? that kinda sucks, but a jump into the future i suppose. technically, the entire PS3 system setup and acessories are a step into the future.

i played Gears online. it wasn't that great from what i played. what did catch me was the co op obviously. first time i played was co op. it was incredible. is* incredible.i don't really think Gears works as online multiplayer. from the way it's setup (hold L to aim and then shoot, chainsaw is immediate kill), it seems pretty single player. it's fine with me though. it's in the satisfaction of owning the first of a spectacularly designed series.

anyway yeah thanks for the responses. looks like everyone says Gears wins? i'm fine with that. i only asked cuz i saw a commercial for resistance and wanted it until i found out its a ps3 exclusive.

plus i don't think it's fair to compare a current 360 game with a ps3 launch.

Gears of War dominates online. It's simple with only three game modes, but they work just fine. I've played both GOW and Resistance, and GOW has the immediate lead. Honestly, I hated the original XBOX and was a huge Sony fan, until PS3 sucked.
