with a calm rarely known to me, i watch myself trace a vertical course through my veins

i know what you mean and it bothers me when people do that too..when they write songs talking about things they haven't experienced because they think it's cool or whatever: 'oh i write about dramatic things because i'm cool and now i can get attention'. but i write lyrics to express myself, and i don't want to get specific because i'm slightly ashamed of some of the things i do, but just think of it this way: music is important to me, i take writing seriously, and i wouldn't put something into my lyrics that i don't feel personally and first-hand. i'm surprised you interpreted it as 'cutting myself' though..i didn't know if people would catch on or not. at least we know you're not stupid.

really? i don't listen to somethign corporate, but it kind of bums me out that our lyrics are similar. i can assure you though that my writing's 100% original:D my inspiration: i was walking down kalakaua in waikiki and this chick walked by and smelled like flowers. and i noticed that i was all sweaty (black shirt + sun = sweat) and probably didn't smell that great. and at night, you can't walk a foot without a group of girls dressed like whores walking by you and their perfume gags me...and reminds me of casual, unmeaningful sex. so there you have it. i didnt' jack lyrics from sc. I REST MY CASE.

i like the lyrical story that is told and how it makes more sense after reading your post explaining how you were walking in the city, past the girls, i'm liking it a bit, the wrist thing shows some emotion , and hopefully wasn't a result of being so depressed, later

thank you. i hesitate to even make this comment cuz i don't want to draw attention to myself...but i'm going to ask..what else would it be a result of if not depression?

my comment seemed to make one think i thought you were really depressed, sorry for that, the song to me seemed as if at that time it was a very depressing time, but to answer your question i believe if not depression it could be a number of things, i would think maybe anger or something along the lines of that, maybe jealousy
