But the third baseman never matched the numbers he put up in that first season, hitting .247 in 1999, .230 in 2000 and .287 in 2001
those batting averages means he better not even be on another ballot. Unless he hit 600 homeruns in each of those years to go with those averages, he should just retire and be forgotten for eternity.
