today i went to the warped tour in san diego. even though there were less bands than last year, there was still a pretty strong lineup. the main band i wanted to see was Rancid. i had very high expectations for these guys and they did not let me down. i thought they put on the best show out of all the bands. i look forward to seeing them again late this year cuz Lars said they would come back around Nov. they played a new song off their upcoming album and it sounded awesome. it was straight out rock that kinda reminded me of some of the songs off And Out Come The Wolves. i think the worst band that played was proly The Used. their sound quality was good but they did more talking than actually playing songs. Bert was bitching to the crowd about his shoe that he lost and he wanted it back. there were some people that threw shoes on stage but they weren't his. other bands i though that put on an awesome show were Glassjaw, Simple Plan (i know, but they did put on a good show and a lot of their songs are catchy. i'd pick them over Good Charlotte any day), Face To Face, and The Ataris. I've seen The Ataris about 4 times before today, but today's show at Warped was proly one of their most energetic and best shows ever. In some aspects, Kris Roe kinda reminded me of Billie Joe from Green Day cuz of his stage presence. i thought that Sum 41 put on a great show. thy had a solid setlist and sounded fucking awesome. After seeing them today i wanted to know when they'll be coming back and after their set i met Stevo the drummer and he said that it'll be a while till they tour again because after Warped they're gonna be taking a break and then work on a new album. overall i had a great time at warped and i hope that next year's is as good or even better that than this one.
