Because the Titans have the most talent around him. I would use that argument for Rivers but not for Vince Young.
Not that I completely agree, but I just think his record has be to taken into consideration.
(I think it should go to colston or jones-drew)

VY for roy
Jones-Drew ftw.
dude deserves it. but those espn nfl clowns give him no love because of their over-liking to bush and young.

Joseph Addai?
I like Jones-Drew too. So it's hard to ay. Jones-Drew has more TD's with 13, but Addai has more yards and only 7 TD's.
Either one of them deserve it.
Who would you put 2 and 3? I'd put Jones-Drew, Colston, and then Addai. I don't think Vince Young is better than Addai.

jones-drew also had three other touchdowns, giving him 16. not to mention setting a rookie record by rushing for a td in eight straight games. granted, he did this while splitting time for pretty much all of the season.
addai split time too, but he was hit or miss. jones-drew was consistently doing what he was asked to do.
i'd probably put addai fourth if i were a voter.

1. colston
2. jones-drew
3. bush
4. addai
if i were voting, that's how i'd put them. a strong argument could be made to put addai above bush, but that's just how i'd put it due to how bush effected the entire offense from day one.

how bout some love for offensive lineman
nick mangold starter every game and played great for the jets
and marcus mcneill for the chargers, i remember reading a week or two ago that at that point he had not taken one holding penalty the whole season, that is impressive for a rookie OT
that being said, an offensive lineman will never win the ROY
Edit: i meant holding penalty instead of holding period, that's what i get for typing while im watching the sabres/islander game

jones drews receiving stats and i think he returned a couple kicks for tds too, the dude was a scorer for the jags and pretty much their only weapon in game time situations.

while im a huge advocate for the "team wins games" statement, id haveto say he is responsible for his teams wins as any other single player in the league. he has absolutely no talent around him (minus Travis Henry who had a great year), and he made some plays that single handedly one games for them

kerry collins at qb - any team 0-16.
steve mcnair at qb - playoff team.
how about the game where the defense scored three tds and the offense scored none? how about the game where the kicker nailed a 60 yarder as time expired? sure, vince had his hand in winning some games, but to think he was the only reason they won so many in a row at the end is ridiculous. he's got plenty of talent around him, especially on defense. not to mention one of the better coaches in the league.
had that team not ran steve mcnair out of town, they'd be playing next weekend.

well im sure when they were 0-5 people weren't saying they have all this talent around them. they have a decent team that all around got better throughout the year, but i think vy played a big part in this team going 8-8. and dont remind me of that 3 td game...ugghhh jacksonville torched the titans in that game for over 400 yards...those 3 turnovers though...sigh.
and they are retarded for getting rid of mcnair.
Kerry Collins on any team = 0-16
except the giants one year! and carolina once! but yea...

didint help much the last two seasons, granted he had spotty play due to injuries, but still, i dont think it would have mattered.
He had a pretty big hand in that Indy game, he basically got every 3rd down conversion for the titans. just ask Drew. haha.
he obviously wasnt the only reason, and i hope nobody actually thinks that, but he played a big part in it.

I didn't think he would, but apparently I was holding faith that a system that gives out awards would actually be trustworthy enough to elimate people who don't deserve it. Apparently I was holding nothing but blind faith.

you like olney, really? i like that he breaks a lot news stories ..but i actually can't bear to read his articles. he brings the meat though. i'm with you on the rest of the list, especially Ryan and Gammons.
as for shaugnessy, he's written one article I have ever actually enjoyed and I was so flabbergasted that I posted the link to it here a few weeks back. and bill simmons ..i read once, found completely unfunny, and never bothered to read again.
edit: he has his on and off days ..but michael wilbon is in the better half of "analysts" also. he makes the occasional absurd claim but i think he's one of the brighter sportswriters on TV.

Many here think he is the worst. But actually, I think he has changed a little. In years prior, he was very biased towards a few teams. Now that he has switched to the NFL network he seems more objective. Maybe the Fox people asked him to be that way ?
