"There are spies among us" is tops. I didn't know they had a split with Trannyx2, now I have to go find it. I'm not familiar with Virginia's hardcore scene, any recs?

Oh, and sticking to the topic at hand, all I have is the Hot Cross/Light the Fuse and Run split. I only listen to the 2 Light the Fuse songs, but like... a lot.

"Ghost Town" fucking rules
I actually like the Hot Cross song "the Eye is a Tricky Machine", its one of their few songs that i find myself listening to alot
Hey Mr. Destiny

Ghost Town is seriously incredible, Instrumental Two is alright... I just really dont enjoy Hot Cross very much at all, in fact, i only bought the CD because I found it for 99 cents at the record store haha.

billy werner for one
they have some alright stuff, some really good guitar work in their later stuff(fair trades has some catchy guitar riffs)
and the earlier stuff billy's voice was still alright, but his voice has gone downhill and now they only have one guitarist, but ive heard good things about the new album
i personally didnt really like fair trades as an album as a whole, not a huge hot cross fan to be honest, but thats my take on them

if I don't win Old Man Gloom's Christmas 2xLP tomorrow at like 5 pm, I intend on ordering it. Get on it so I'm not the only one sendspacing/megauploading it for some of the fine people here.
edit: does it include "All Your Base"??? I want to own it in some form but don't want to shell out 15 to buy it (the most random items are expensive at indie stores) or order it.
Government Warning
Direct Control
Municipal Waste
Uhh... Wasted Time... uhhh
I can't think of anymore VA bands, but there are a lot of good ones.

I don't know. Saetia was my first, and they really got me intrigued on the genre without ever really liking them outside of a few songs. I've seen Hot Cross and heard the majority of their stuff and I just can't get into them whatsoever, so I'm with you there.

The first 15 songs on their discography are amazing. The stuff after is pretty good, but after a while it turns into a CombatWoundedVeteran sort of experience for me, as the songs are just really short and noisy and not very individual.
City of Caterpillar, on the other hand, has an absolutely fantastic self-titled album, but I have yet to hear the live+demo's.

yeah id say on Lineage Situation I only listen to the first 20 tracks and then the last one on the album.
I have everything CoC recorded, and all i can say is that you have to get demo+live its effin amazing its a lot rawer of CoC, also search them on hxcmp3.com and you can download their two unreleased songs

ah. to be honest, I am slsk'ing the demo+live stuff now. I forgot to mention I also heard the songs on the pageninetynine split. It's kind of hard to believe that with such great vocals that CoC's vocalist was given a chance on very few '99 songs (see: lonesome waltz of leonard cohen)

All NP stuff from the JFFB split onwards kicks arse IMO, their final songs are so fucking awesome.
If you like Brandon's (COC) vocals check out Pg. 99's Document #7, he does vox on a few of those tracks, and they're all super creepy.
