Not so much a review, just some thoughts on tonight's show. I got there in time for the Early November. They played a decent set, about 6-7 songs pretty much from mother, mechanic, path. They ended with "I want to hear you sad". NFG came on with their usual incredible energy from their start. Their set list was, not in order:

Understatement, All Downhill, Failure's not Flattering, Hold My Hand, On My Mind, Coming Home, Hit or Miss, Glory of Love, Head on Collision, Forget My Name (a nice addition), and ended with It's Not Your Fault and My Friends.

It would have been nice if they played longer and co-headlined, so it wasn't as good as their headlining tour a few months ago just because of the shorter set. But NFG can pretty much do no wrong when it comes to their live shows.

Fall Out Boy came on after a long wait. I'm not going to write their set because I'm not really a fan and didn't go to see them. But the girls were pretty loud. I think they played 2 or 3 new ones, and I can see them getting even bigger because of Arms Race. They also played the first song they ever wrote according to Pete, but I couldn't tell you the name. Oh, and Chad came out for his part on I Slept With Someone... They played for over an hour, with a good mix of from their 2 previous albums. It was only my second time seeing them, so I'm not a great judge on if their live show has improved much or not, but going by tv I'll say yes. Just not my thing, and the screaming was pretty unbearable for me. But I think FOB fans will not be disappointed.

i think this should've been a co-headlining tour. i would be much more excited for it tonight

I'm pretty excited to see this tour in Boston, but (like everyone else) I also wish it were co-headlining. Nonetheless, it'll be a good time.

(Oh, and I wish Lifetime was playing my date too)

i cant believe they arent playing dead on arrival. that is one of my favorites since it's the first song i ever heard by them. i wish they would take out 16 candles for it instead

thats insane. that kind of stuff makes me upset. i just hope they don't get any bigger. i'm not a selfish fan or something, but when you stop playing fan favorites, it's just wrong.

hopefully with the other tours they have this year, they get a better set list together.

But I was excited enough when they did "The Patron Saint...".

i kinda expected their set to be a little longer tonight tho..
it was exactly an hour and that included the whole Journey song..which was fun..but still would have rathered an extra song..
sad no chicago or dead on arrival

"Growing Up" isn't just another name for "Sophomore Slump of Comeback Of The Year" is it (I just figured "Are we growing up"...)

nfg was totally my favorite lat night. i felt bad for them because there werent that many kids there for them. i wish they got to play longer.

the show last night made me realize that fob just isnt the same band anymore. the majority of the crowd there was a complete joke. it was the first time ever that i didnt want to stand on the main floor with everyone. i went up to the next level and just watched it.

agreed. they could've switched it for dead on arrival.

i'm not going to lie, i was pretty disappointed with them last night. it just felt like an awkward show. i would've rather had fob open up for nfg. i've never seen a bad nfg show

Hmm. The show that I went to (SF Warfield), a ton of kids were on the main floor for NFG. That's when the crowd actually got the roughest. They played a good set, and then Fall Out Boy came out. FOB was awesome, and it was funny to see how much weight Patrick gained. The opening bands sounded great as well, and Perm Me was especially cool because I got to hang out with them for a minute or two and they seemed really cool.

That actually happened before to some metal/hardcore show I went too and it was right before TTYG came out, and they had like 3 fans and played like 4 songs haha.

GlassyLight
01/07/07, 09:29 AM
I hate to break it to all the fans that came around during TTTYG, but i'll wager that a large percentage of people that go to FOB shows started listening to them with FUCT - making that the album that a large percentage identifies with. They'll play what the crowd wants to hear most, and if most of them want to hear FUCT/haven't heard TTTYG, they're going to play the FUCT songs.

It blows, but deal with it. You know that's what's going to happen, so don't whine about it later.

I'd like to know the same thing. All I've seen so far in this thread for a tour that has other bands other than FOB and NFG (no offense to NFG) is their set-lists.

So, does anybody have set-lists for TEN?

it was an awesome show
FOB fangirls do creep me out a bit
i was afraid when the lights went out before they came on
and everyone was screaming
and 12 years old
it was odd seeing permanent me play for such a huge crowd
and having all the fangirls get them to sign stuff and pictures and screaming when they were coming out from back stage
NFG is so darn good
and FOB has gotten a better live show
TEN was awesome as well
There were a few random band people there
of course
William from TAI
Steve from Punchline
Omar from Hit The Lights (?)
It was pretty cool
I love not having to sit through mediocre opening bands!
