I'm starting to get into Jade Tree bands, and I was wondering since they have about 8, what is a good album to introduce me to The Promise Ring?

Indeed they did break up. Perhaps that's a good thing since they were only getting worse with each album/EP.

Since you are into Jade Tree bands, make sure to check out Statistics, Jets To Brazil, Onelinedrawing, New End Original and Texas Is The Reason. All of them are pretty good.
