ok, so my band is trying to put together a small tour for the summer, and i dont know of places to play in parts of the south. our tour is pretty much from texas to florida and back again. We want to try and play a show in Lousiana and Alabama but I have no fucking clue about any scenes there at all. help in florida, georgia, and missouri would be helpful too. we just need small punk venues, or if possible the names of punk/folk/folkpunk/crust/ska bands in those states.

any help would be great. i just need some venues and bands so i can start booking this tour.

If you want to come up to St. Louis I can probably help you out, don't know how far north you are planning, though.

I have Missouri on there at the very end. I don't know if we are going to do one or two shows, it really all depends. We want to do Gainesville, Fl, then go to Georgia and either take a day off of shows and just drive to St. Louis or maybe do another show in southern Missouri. We're trying to set this up for either the middle/end of July and beginning of August.

Just search on myspace for big local/regional bands in each state. They usually have a few shows on their calendar at venues they frequently play.

For example: www.myspace.com/removetheveil (Alabama) or www.myspace.com/anairbagsavedmylife (Iowa)

I'd like to get to Virgina, but we don't have enough days. We're trying to keep this short for a few reasons.

Togepi, where abouts in Missouri are you? I know Ryan is in St. Louis. I'm looking to play anywhere along our planned route, and I wouldn't mind skipping our off day to play a show. The date's we are looking at right now are between July 31st and August 11th. We'd want to try St. Louis for the 10th, and have a show in Georgia on the 9th. I'm sure we could make it from Georgia to wherever you are in MO on the 9th.

I'm like 2 or 3 hours southwest.

Yeah, but when you are trying to get to Missouri the next day it makes things much harder, and it makes the drive much longer.

but couldn' tyou find somewhere in between and space the dates out?

it'd seem logical to go up to VA and then come east to st. louis, and then southwest to springfield and then down to texas.

I'm in a punk/ska band and I'm friends with the previously mentioned An Airbag Saved My Life, so if you want to come to central Iowa, tell me and I can work on something.

EDIT: what's your band's name?

I was thinking about that, but we have to keep this short. Going from either Richmond or Norfolk to St. Louis is a long drive, and would force us to add days to our tour. After a day in Savanna we are going to take a day off to do the drive from there to Missouri. Then make the drive home the next day for our final show that night.

Oh, and our name is Excretion.
