I don't like Blink 182, but I'll be damned if I won't respect what they've done for the music I like.

What about you?

Eh. Probably Led Zeppelin, and U2 .. Actually only because I like Bono as a person.

01/09/07, 06:28 PM
yeah U2 is the one band I respect over all others, cause I'm too stupid to like old stuff like the Beatles

You should respect anybody that has the balls to go up on stage and play music for people they don't know.

Hahaha. No way. Some people can easily do that, and they are egotistical assholes. I have no respect for egotistical assholes.

G.G. Allin played shows. He was a complete fuckhead. I, and many others have no respect for him at all.

I have respect for way too many bands to list. Anyone who's really worked hard to leave a mark in the music scene, who use music as a way to have fun and say what they want to say (things that are really worth saying), and who play what they want to play and how they want to play it. I dunno. Cliched, most likely. But that's what I'd respect if I looked at a band.

if anyone can honestly say that they have respect for someone who overdosed on heroin on stage naked with blood and shit all over them... you should really ask your mother to give you a hug or something.

I respect the fact that G.G. Allin tried to demolished the set of thinking that was and still is infesting this country. Yeah, you go to a jazz show... it's safe and it's comfortable. You go to a Cannibal Corpse show and you know you're getting your ass beat in the mosh pit. It's the same thing -- kids know what their getting into when they go. You go to a Dwarves show, you expect them to play naked and have thier antics, if you go to a Gwar show... you expect blood and a stage show.... this was G.G.'s stage show. It was punk rock. And it was unconvetional. Who the fuck are you to tell him or us otherwise?

Thrice as people and musicians. They aren't afraid to do what they want and follow trends. how many bands do you know have donated profits from every cd they sold to one charity or another? class-acts all the way.

I dont know if I really respect a "band" but I do Respect Tom DeLonge (Blink 182 and AVA) A LOT. He is my hero. I love how he can look out on the world and put everything in a song. I wish my lyrics could be that good. But Tom DeLonge. I heart him.

Why Panic! At The Diso?? I'm not asking in an affencive way. I'm just asking, because...hmmm... I dont know. I guess I just dont respect them.

haha i had to laugh at that one.

Elvis??? Ok so that was a joke when I put it down, but now that I think about it. It did take some balls to shake his hips like that, in that time. I guess he showed that you don't always have to do what is "socially acceptable"

Bands who dare to be different

Speddy
01/12/07, 10:15 AM
Any band that could care less about how much money they make, how many fans they have, or any of that. Any band that can make music that helps their fans forget everything and just relax.
Although their are a ton of bands out there that I'm not so crazy about, I still respect some of them for making the music they do. I know my older sister is a huge fan of Evenesence [I don't think I spelled it right] and I really don't like their music all that much. But I do resepct them for being able to help my sister, and all their other fans, through a trial their facing.
