At a recent NAACP get-together, Al Sharton and other presidential canidates gave speaches. And Al Sharpton proclaimed he was the only presidential canidate to spend time in jail, and he said it with pride. He even got a standing ovation for going to jail! And then Dennis Kucinich tried to get some recoginition by stating he spent time in jail after a Vietnam war protest....as if it were something to be proud of! Funny stuff.

Nelson Mandella was in jail too. I guess he wasn't fit to be the Prime Minister of south africa.

my point is that they are bragging about jail time, even declaring that they deserve recognition for their time spent in jail ( even though Kucinich only spent one night in prison). its like saying "yeah, dont vote for me based on my skills and positive aspects, vote for me because i bang underage prostitutes every night" not to that extent really, but its taking pride in a usually shameful subject, the democratic way is what I like to call it. And the worst part is he was applauded by the NAACP after stating his claim as being the only jailed canidate.

I don't know to much about the NAACP, but from what I hear they would support anybody who is anti-republican.

The democrats have been criticizing Bush like crazy, but I have not heard one of them say what should be done. They just say "Bush is bad", without giving any alternative viewpoints.

The Dems really don't have a plan in this one...no common links, no common views, no direction. It's a big scavenger hunt, but no one will ever find the "egg" needed to even come close to challenging Dubya. Bush in a landslide, as if that even needed to be said. There's too many Democratic candidates in the left-wing rowboat, and it's sinking fast. Bush, however, certainly shouldn't use his time to find foes to fight just to draw attention away from the slipping economy. With his almost certain re-election, and without another major world conflict, he should use the upcoming new year to truly re-structure what he can of the economy. Then, using his 5th and 6th years, when his power is greatest, for other intiatives such as education, which we all know needs reform.

My money is either on Jewish Joe or African-American Al, simply because of their minority status. Either one of them will take the democratic primary. And if one of them wins the whole pie, I am going to cry for four years. That is if the nation is still in tact after those four years.

I don't know if America is ready for a minority or woman president. It makes me sad, but I think racial and religious prejudice is still too deeply embedded.

If anything, being a minority would be a weapon in your favor if you were running for the presidency.

Why did you feel the need to adress them by their religion and race, whitey?

Yeah, I do. They seem to be playing the Jewish/Black card pretty often, why shouldnt I? On some Dem election site it listed for Jewish Joe's resume "First Jewish Vice President Canidate"....I shall let that speack for it self

You seem to know its wrong that they do it, so it boggles me as to why you would want to do it as well.

why does being a minority or a womyn matter?...........see this is one of the things that wrong with those on the left, they look at whats on the outside of a person rather then whats on the inside........i personally wouldn't have any problem with electing a womyn to the presidency ( ive voted for many locally and one to the state level), but i wouldn't do it because shes a womyn, but because shes the most qualified PERSON, and thats what matters..........ones sex has nothing to do with how they will act or govern, and so they shouldn't campagin on "sex" or be elected because of "sex".....

.......this is what really scarys me about the 2008 election when hilary clinton runs......im scaried that many people are going to vote for her soley based on her "sex" and not on her veiws or values (or lack there of), and we are going to be stuck with a president who was elected for all the wrong reasons.........

It astounds me that a)since I am a white, christian male I can not categorize people like that, yet if I were a black, lesbian, muslim woman, it would be my god given right to do so. and b) that a 16 year old kid (myself) is expected to have the maturity not do do so when possible national leaders are doing the same.....
