View Full Version : That 70's Show
i recently bought seasons 1-5 on DVD. all for only 20 bucks each. i absolutely love this show. these buys are so worth it. i can't wait to buy 6-8.
there is so many great classic episodes, moments, and quotes. although, yes, the 8th season was semi weak without Topher and Ashton. but the finale was really great.
who else loves/loved this show?

I'm not sure which seasons they are, but I would guess it's about 3-4 would be the ones I enjoy. I don't like the earlier ones and the later ones were terrible.
It seemed like towards the end the jokes got worse and worse and they resorted to sitting in the circle to get a laugh far too often.
it def got better as time went on. and then near the end kinda faded out. they should have ended with season 7. but the finale was indeed great.
the dude they brought in to replace eric was lame

Yes, he was awful. I do remember seeing some of the finale and it was pretty great. My favorite line from what I have seen though would be...
(ice falls out of Fez's pants)
Eric: Oh look, Fez is making ice.

I own seasons 1-5 too! It was such a good show and I'm glad it lasted as long as it did even though the plot started to get a little weird towards the end.

Pretty damn good show but they should have just ended it when Eric left. There was no way they could make a good show without him in it, he was hilarious

I never got the chance to watch the show when it was on its normal time on fox, but I catch it in syndication everyday now. It's one of the only television shows where I actually laugh out loud at while watching.
Anyone wanna tell me what happened in the finale?

As the series concluded, the Formans decide not to move to Florida and sell their home (after Kitty gives a sentimental tour of the house to a prospective buyer with the TV camera as the buyer's POV allowing viewers to see the enclosed layout of the first floor).
Hyde gives up old habits, but returns to them shortly. Fez and Jackie start dating. Hyde's father gives him ownership of the record store. The episode also featured the return of Eric and Kelso. Donna prepares to finally leave Point Place to attend college, but stays to wait for Eric, with whom she may have gotten back together.
The reunited group of friends enjoy flashbacks (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flashback_%28psychological_phenomen on%29) from past years such as Hyde punching Kelso in the arm, and Red's numerous threats of shoving his foot up people's asses.
The episode ends at the stroke of midnight (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midnight) on New Years Eve (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/December_31) 1979. The gang smokes out one last time before the new decade in the basement and walk upstairs to join the parents. At the 3-2-1 countdown to 1980, we see the license plate with the producers' names showing an "80" sticker in the lower right hand corner of the plate, as opposed to 76/77/78/79.
The final credits shown were the same used in the pilot with the teenage cast driving in the Vista Cruiser singing along to "Hello, It's Me!" by Todd Rundgren (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Todd_Rundgren).

I thought Fez and Kelso were lovers for the longest time
They probably are
First Kelso, then Hyde, now Fez? Jackie really got around.

This is one of my favorite shows on DVD, but the way to view it is to ignore everything after season 5. The pilot episode is also one of the best ever made.
"Eric, i too have to use the restroom".
Season Six starts the downhill cycle where old jokes are recycled and the cast nolong looks or feels the age they're supposed to be portraying. It was a show that deserved to die an honorable death, but due to fox's horrible ability to create new programing, it was kepted alive 3 years longer then it should have.
