yea, devil was great if you like songs that are long for no reason, with crappy lyrics, decent production, no flow, and shitty intsrumentals. hell, greatest album of all time if thats the case.

dude, what the fuck. the only two albums worth debating are their first. since then, brand new rapes tbs

yurmykryptonite
01/14/07, 03:27 PM
TDAGARIM is lame as hell and tbs is a mere shadow of what they used to be so basically there should be a neither catagory

what song is long besides limousine? and you must not be listening correctly if you think that the lyrics are bad. it's not better than deja but it is certainly a good album....i'd love to hear what you have to say about louder now considering it is actually a piece of shit album

I'm weird about Brand New because I personally hated deja (yes, I know that's f***** up. Sorry.) I always liked YFW better and really love Devil and God.

However, Tell All Your Friends and Where You Want To Be blow Brand New out of the water for me.

I liked Louder Now but it was sort of a dissapointment for me. I chose TDAGARIM.

tdagarim

ashesofapril234

They're two different albums Louder Now is another TBS album. tdagarim is a new album, it shows Brand New growing more and more. tdagarim is deff better.

i like TDAG more and more. i liked some of louder now's songs like blue heaven, but others were just horrible.

Why do we have to compare every Taking Back Sunday and Brand New release?

Anyway:

Tell All Your Friends>Louder Now>Where You Want to Be
Deja Entrendu>The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me = Your Favorite Weapon

Louder Now by far.

By far? Come on now.... That is a tremendously bold statement... Brand New's last two releases absolutely shit on what taking back sunday has released.. I mean seriously is there even a comparison in this poll?? Not for nothing, but Brand New is definitely not over rated, just the people who vote for them in the polls here have good taste in music...

my honest opinion on louder now is there are like 4 or 5 songs that i enjoy...if they left it at those 4 or 5 songs and made it an EP i'd enjoy it much more....it's not a complete album to me...The devil and god is focused generally around 1 main point and does a beautiful job conveying it

HowSoonIsNow
01/15/07, 11:40 AM
The Devil and God without a doubt. I still can't understand why people dislike that album so much. It's easily Brand New's best album in terms of production, song writing musically and lyrically.

Because there are so many haters on this board... I have found that it is either you like Brand New or you hate them, which is a shame because they are such a great band.. I don't understand how people can think that this album sucks... What were you looking for really? This band makes simple and honest music... The don't have to go over the top like My Chemical Romance to keep their fans or to gain popularity.. But it doesn't matter because BN will always have a loyal following no matter what.. The musical growth of Brand New is so clear when you listen to YFW and The Devil and God...

it is absolutely not brand news best lyrical work....deja shits on it lyrically....its still far better than louder now but to say it's their best lyrical work is a stretch....it is very heartfelt but i dont think it touches deja in the lyrical aspect

The lyrics on Devil turn me off completely. The music is great, but I expect to be blown away by the lyrics after YFW and Deja. I hope their next album is better. I don't hate Brand New, but I was let down big time.

Louder Now had no lasting power. The Devil and God gets better with each listen, and I listen to that CD alot. Plus it seems like Taking Back Sunday is going downhill with each release while Brand New is going uphill.

Can somebody please tell me what TBS has to do to get some respect? If I had to pick two bands to listen to for the rest of my life it would be Brand New and Taking Back Sunday...yea I said it. I honestly only picked Louder Now over TDAG because I've seen TBS live and haven't seen Brand New yet. TBS is a funny group of guys who work hard and put on an amazing live show, and I think the only reason they get hated on so much is because of how the split went down with John Nolan. But people need to stop living in the past, he's not going to come back and their music is going to be different than TAYF because it isn't the same band anymore. Face it, TBS will never put out another album as good as TAYF but that doesn't mean every other record is shit.

Hypocrit? Lyrically Brand New's latest release is far supperior to Louder Now. But Louder Now is much better musically which makes it a tie in my opinion. This is clearly a pretty one sided poll and I would have guessed that. And that's because of what people on this site value in their music. Anyone who says Brand New "shits" on TBS obviously values lyrics WAY more than the music itself, you can't have one without the other. Overall, two mediocre releases.
