The entire Florida coasts is constantly blasted with hurricanes. Mississippi was hit worse with Hurricane Katrina, but are they ever on television? no. I know people that live around the city of New Orleans and they had minimal damage to their home. New Orleans didn't prepare for the hurricane. I'm sorry someone constructed a city eight feet below sea level and expected levees to keep the water out.

I've been through hurricanes in Florida. I've been without electricity, I've been without being able to use water. The problem is we left the area. We evacuated. There was ample opportunity to evacuate and no one wanted to do it. I sympathize for the people, but I have no sympathy for an organization who's owner hates the city and has wanted to move. I have no sympathy for the mayor of that city. I have no sympathy for the state of Louisiana. They knew the hurricane was coming and they did NOTHING. When the one storm was coming to Texas, they had no problem busing everyone out. They have no problem doing it in Florida.

I'm sorry, but I'm just tired of hearing about it. A few years ago the Saints could barely fill the dome and they had people wearing bags over their heads saying, "I couldn't even give my tickets away."

Do you think it was the citizen's fault that the city wasn't ready for a hurricane? Almost 2,000 people died in that hurricane and hundreds of thousands lost their homes, had to change their entire lives, and yet your selfish, culturally insensitive mind feels no sympathy for the city and innocent people that got killed. I live in Seattle, a city that is due for a monster earthquake and has a bridge, viaduct and other structures that we know will probably collapse when there's that earthquake. But, the city doesn't have the money (which would take hundreds of millions) to fix those structures, so we drive on those roads with a known risk. I guess if I died on that bridge that collapsed during an earthquake you'd feel no sympathy for me, either. Well, fuck you. It wasn't just the hurricane that destroyed everything, it was what the hurricane did (made the levees break) that ended up in the ultimate demolition of the city.
