Look, I've been reading through most of these posts and many of you just bitch about pop punk. I don't like their music, but you, well most of you think that you are punk when you listen to all the stuff on FAT and Epitaph when really that is the closest thing to the mainstream.
Anarchy would never work. You see the whole point of anarchy is non conformity or anti-government. Just pretend you wake up one day and someone shoots your family but, guess what you can't do anthing about it. What then? Anarchists would have to go against there own rule so technically it wouldn't work.
Most of you people call GC and those other pop bands( by the way they are a pop band that plays instruments) because you dislike them becasue they aren't punk.
Guess what? You aren't punk either. Punk is dead. You can't be punk anymore. It was a movemnet in the 80's and 70's that was about non conformity. It is just simply immpossible to not conform to something in our world today. Most of you picked up a NOFX record one day and said "I'm going to do whatever I can to fit into this scene." Then there's the other kind of people in this "scene" that are complete losers. You were watching MTV one day and saw GC and said " Hey, this is cool and the next big trend. I'm going to get into it to be cool." Or you use it as an excuse to not like pop becasue they aren't called pop. But, really they are. Now you go to Hot Topic too becasue you want to fit in.
Some of you people call bands that go mainstream sellouts just because they go mainstream. You heard of the band before then and now hate them because they're too big for your pocket. Or you hate them because you don't no what it's like to be doing something you love for a livong. What's the point if you don't try to fufill your goal to the fullest? Changing your integrity (for the money )or when you stop caring about the fans and do it for the money. So really GC aren't sellouts becasue they had no integrity to begin with.
If you have any hate replys or questions about genres just ask.

Ok, it's cool. I'm only doing this becasue the last board I was at no one knew anything about music. This is almost like a test ( I know it sounds lame). It's also to see who likes the same kinda music as I. Sory about the punk is dead thing, I didn't know.

but it sounds like you just want to prove to everyone that you listen to better stuff than everyone else. and that you're better because you do..

Ok fine, if you think that. " I AM NOT BETTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE, THIS IS ONLY A TEST I REPEAT THIS IS ONLY A TEST" happy now? Look, I'm not going to fight becasu there's no point and it's only the internet so if you're not happy that's your problem.

If you'll look at the bands on this website, they're not trying to be punk. The people on this website know that the bands aren't punk and they're not trying to be punk either. They're just listening to the music they like and talking about it. You know what, its just the name of the website that's a little misleading. But there have only been...14,240 other posts about this same topic so in the words of Jesus, "Keep on truckin"

Dude, go play on the train tracks.
I respect your opinions, but don't come to this board and try and take it over. Surprisingly, a few of us on this board actually know a lot about music.

you won't like it here, especially if you insist on attacking the tastes of the board in general right off the bat. you're better off keeping cool and just watching the board and posting on what interests you and ignoring what doesn't than trying to tell people how you think it is. most people here aren't under the impression that the starting line is a true punk band. they just like the sound.

Bro, like I said before...STOP THIS SHIT. 99% of the people couldn't give a rat's ass if what they listen to is "emo" or "punk". While you may be right, punk is dead, we just don't care! It's a lost cause. Now, please, GET THE FUCK OUT! Go read some more shit on allmusic.com.

Well when you come in and start lecturing others, who would have respect for what you say? Get your feet wet first, don't dive in. There are people here who know a great deal about music, politics, history, math, science, etc. If you had gone about it in a different fashion, such as asking "who here thinks punk is dead?", then maybe you'd actually get some respect. All you have now is a bad reputation.

Punk is and was NOT a life style, it was an attitude...... and today some people still have that attitude...... U can wear your Gap, AnF clothes and still be punk...... i personally dont wear them, becasue i hate most of the people I know that do! so Punk isn't dead! maybe the Punk Era is dead, but the attidue LIVES ON!!!!!!!!!!!!! arent my words inspiring?!?!?!?!
