Want respects, you need to do a few things. First of all, don't act stupid. Ask yourself "What Would Lisha Do?" then do the exact opposite. I can't stand people who add nothing to the the discussions, it only serves to piss me off.
Next, learn to type, spell and punctuate. I don't expect perfect grammar, but you could at least make your posts intelligible. And if you have a big vocabulary, use it. People take you more seriously if you use well constructed sentences that make precise points.
Also, don't swear or slur. Doing either of these does nothing to help us realize your intelligence, they do quite the opposite actually. Besides, if you hold of on the swearing, then if you do let one go on occasion it packs more of a punch, because it's not so common.
And last, don't ever mess with Colin, Devin, Bill, Shannon, Neph or Pat, because all of them can flame you to a crisp.

When I first came here I actually got into a couple of fights with some people who I now realize are the coolest, most intelligent people on these boards. But I didnt act like a bitch or try and kiss everyones ass to get them to like me. I just handled myself as I would in a normal argument in person and we spoke intelligently. I think they picked up on that and now (Although Im still rather new and dont have any friends here.) they dont give me any trouble. The only flaming I may encounter would be a result of immature kids on these boards trying to be funny...but they fail every single time.
Well I am way to lazy to read all the posts here but the first one was enough anyways. What you should do is start off by saying how you are new here and state your age and where you are from and you just wanted to say hi. If you don't like people giving you shit then well you should just never sign into the AP forum's easy as that. So good luck to you hope you can make it through and you don't cry.

He is completely correct. If you taking the hazing well, we gain some respect for you. Now that we know he's not a douche, we leave him be. Listen to what Matt (kidinthecorner) said. That was pretty much my method, and I'm fairly well-respected here.
