LA's Shiny Toy Guns (http://www.shinytoyguns.com/) will be playing a few shows before they head out to Europe (and this is also right after they headling the Sundance Film Festival). The band was also recently featured on a Motorola Red ad (http://video.umrg.com/shinytoyguns/motorolared/) and on MTV's "You Hear It First." East Coast? The closest of those locations to the coast is Dayton at about 10 hours. None of those states even touches the Atlantic.
After this East Coast jaunt, they are heading all the way to the West Coast, including stops in Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Wyoming...

I agree that they're overrated. At least in my opinion.
the indie-snobs I know worship them.

We were the first company to book them in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2004. It's the ONLY show we had to shut down due to 4 people showing up. Three months later they were in CMJ magazine and going on tour with Bob Mould (Husker Du). Now I've seen them in Alternative Press, Spin, and Rolling Stone. I am so proud of these guys and am happy to see they're making something of this band that they've worked so hard to keep afloat. I love their new drummer. He's exciting to watch.
If you don't like this genre of music I would highly recommend just checking out their live show. There are bands that I would never buy their cd, but would always check out their live show.

This band is awesome live and on record. I wouldn't say that they are particularly overrated.

Is this the band with the song that talks about riding race cars or some shit? That song is annoying, but catchy like a bitch whistling showtunes.

I should go and catch them at sundance. I've been debating this and I just might go. Sure traffic would be a pain and its an outdoor concert but its free (minus the gas to get to park city and back) it can't get any better

these guys are great live. i saw them at a tiny little club in '05 with Just Surrender and My American Heart. they blew me away, as well as the other 6 people in the audience. It's great to see them getting the attention they deserve.
