Dead of Winter (Dead on Winter)
This would be the first and the last time…this would happen
With your eyelids pointing downward, to a heart that never occupies…a spiral shaped massacre, that would die in silent after eyes.
This was a trite explanation from something that would tug off of lips, and make you seem beautiful, a never-ending solar glimpse.
But now, I see perfection, in a mirror that would jade, you left out the ending, it wasn’t as complex as it seems.
A silencing whisper, that would hit my heart, like a bullet that would implode on impact….and I could never find you again…in that body you call yours.
Chorus
For anything, forever more, not another chance I wouldn’t take.
As the winter chilled the words, and chapped the lips, and left an afterthought to cover us. I’ll drive past weeping trees, I’ll singe a seeking cell. Disparage my weakened thought, it was never enough to help me through this…drink it away…find a better enemy.
Now, I’ll roll circles in a bed I’ll lay in, I made it. Imperfect as this heart, a lifeless chorus to a song I’ve been building. A pretty reaper will deliver it’s churning blow onto the back of my head.
To fall lifeless, better than making promises she can’t keep. Her eyes would appear transparent, and I would insincerely smile, these teeth never failed to show…ruin my winter…you ruined my winter.
