Rise Records (http://www.riserecords.com) has signed Before Their Eyes (http://www.myspace.com/beforetheireyes). The group will record their debut for the label with Joey Sturgis (The Devil Wears Prada) in February.

Rise Records signing Before Their Eyes from Findlay, OH, might be their best signing yet. They're on the RISE! I believe they will be Rise's version of Solid State's Underoath. Give them some time, and they will be up on top with the best! Look for their album to hit stores nationwide in May of 2007!

I liked the Drama Summer a lot but im up in the air on this band. Rise has helped out a lot of bands so maybe they can do the same for this band.

It's sad, they're a my american heart rip off band pretty much. Oh and half the people who posted in here are associated with their first "label" (run by the singer/his girlfriend).

The first guy who responded is their booking agent. Either way, good for them. I liked The Drama Summer a lot and Nick has pipes, although I personally don't understand why he quit to do this and why bands like this continue to get deals considering this music has been done a million times, not only by most of the bands on Rise Records, but by everyone else as well.

the Drama Summer were pretty good, I really wish they would have released a full length. I like the direction this band took, mainly because it's better than most bands playing this style. And these dudes are from Findlay, so their 'home' shows are basically at Headliners in Toledo, so that's cool since they're local.

And they're better than Plague the City, which is basically the Drama Summer with a new vocalist and second guitarist.

have you even listened to them and/or my american heart? they do NOT sound alike. at all.

this band is alright, nothing too special.
they are pretty good, certainly not bad, but their are a lot of other bands i would have much rather seen get signed.

Dont be stupid though. Labels dont care if they're signing the same style bands. Music isnt always about making something completely unheard of before. If its catchy, and kids like it, thats all that matters. The labels dont care if they are "completely new". They care if they're going to sell.

And kids want bands that sound like their favorite band. so if this band falls under the category of "sounding like underoath" or "sounding like so and so" then thats a good thing. They can be grouped with those bands, and sell to the kids that like those bands.

Just because they're not #12, or some grind band thats completely GROUNDBREAKING doesnt mean they arent catchy, and likable.

I have no association with this band, and love it. Catchy, and makes me want to sing along. The songs get stuck in my head, and are likable, so that does it for me.
