yea i saw them. wish they had showed them a little more, but it was cool to see them up there. also, in the song when kris says "i saw a black flag sticker on a cadillac…", what did he say when they were playing live cuz he said somethin different.

he said "i saw a white sox sticker on a cadiliac" it was also funny when when he asked the crowd to help him out and then they stopped to let the crowd sing the song, but no one did, it was funny. stupid people dont know what good music is.
i wish i would have seen it....:(

I was there, they played 'In This Diary' before the broadcast started. You could tell that Kris was feeling weird without a crowd below him to sing along and stuff, as for the part where he asked to help him out, out of the 50,000 people or so that were there, There were probably 700 who had heard of the Ataris, so nobody could hear the few of us that did actually sing along.

its not like it's an original. ALOT of people knew the Don Henly version. thats weird not alot of people would know the words. hell, even my mom knows the words.

Yeah, but most of the people there just didn't care enough to get into it, they just wanted the derby to start.

There were a few of us that kinda belted it out, but we looked like idiots cause we were the only one's in like the whole section that did, plus the stage was set up over 2nd base, so its not like the guys could've heard us anyway.

I saw the Homerun Derby from the 2nd round on and they would play the Ataris "Boys of Summer" like every in and out of the commercial break. it didnt sound like the CD version, so I came to the conclusion that I missed it live..awww... its Okay, I taped the Kimmel performance and my friends went to that! lucky bastards.
It's a shame Giambi didn't win.

I missed the part of them singing, but after the derby my brother(who knows I like the ataris) was like "the a-tar-is (he pronouced it completetly wrong) played before it started." From what I've heard it was a good performance and if my brother(who hates the music I liked) even noticed it, it must have been good.

He was talking about In This Diary, which not many people have heard of yet (amazing considering MTV and radio airplay). They don't know the words to that.
