Malone is a solid player and almost has the most points in NBA history. I don't think he will be riding their coattails.
I am just interested to see how Phil Jackson manages the playing time between them all.

well its win - win situation for them all.
lakers can win back the west/ nba and malone will finally get his ring, i think he's deserving of it.

Last night he put up 21, 11 for 21 from the floor. He is looking pretty solid in my opinion.

Basketball is a stupid sport anyway, nobody cares about it. It's all for hockey. You think the Lakers are so amazing, look at the New York Rangers, they have a plethora of all stars and still can't make the playoffs...they're still my favorite team.

I really am a Lebron fan just because hes fun to watch. he had a couple sweet dunks last night. and although he is arrogant to some extent, hes not obnoxious about it. i think he'll be a star.

if they work hard and are on a sucking team, they deserve it. see how for the olympics and crap they have all star teams, that would be the best team and would win all the time.
but they're all spread over and each deserve to win. ok it makes sense in my head, and it probably doesn't. hopefully someone else can explain it

it wasn't him alone though, i never said he was on a sucking team. some players are though.
I think I agree with Alpha on this one. Malone doesn't deserve a championship, he had his chance. But if the Lakers do win it this year, will be because he and the rest of the team worked hard. He won't be riding coattails. The man is one of the greatest basketball players ever.

and I understand what you are saying, and kinda agree, but if a team can win the championship without the services of another player, it would have nothing to do with that other player.
now if he went to like Portland or Minnesota, they are never expected to win the championship every year, so if they were to win it it would be because of Malone.
