Ya, so, i'm sitting here thinking and I realize that the lyrics for bands such as Slipknot are really similar to bands like, Finch or From Autumn to Ashes. I don't know if this is good or bad, but I always thought punk and metal would never really relate or conform or whatever. I dunno, tell me what you think, I doubt all of you "kewl" people with 10 million posts will care, you will just tell me to die. So, yup.

Yes, the hardcore punk scene is beggining to blur the boundaries between itself and the hardcore/metalcore/metal scene. But I dont care. Its all good.
And Slipknot's lyrics are horrible, whereas FATA's lyrics are really good. Finch has mediocre lyrics, but I like their sound.

You not only gave birth to us, but you also breast fed us and beat us when we refused to make you shoes.

well public enemy's lyrics weren't all that different from the dead kennedys, reagan youth, etc. it doesn't mean punk and rap are the same thing.
lyrics don't define a genre, the music does. example: Guns 'n' Roses wrote "Sweet Child 'O Mine" -does that mean they're an emo band?

good point...real good point actually...thanks for clarifying...Chuck D actually supports some punk...he has a little cameo at the beginning of "Rise Above" in the anti-flag tribute CD...i think.
