Time for a new Mod? [Archive]

I have an idea, which is not only mine. We have three mods, absolutepunk, bill and brandon.
But I think it would be really helpful if we had another mod. Even if it was temporary just until we get the boards back to the way they were. Brandon would just say this place is what we make it out to be, but seriously it's hard to make it a good place with all these new kids coming in and going post crazy.

I think Pat would do a really good job at being a temporary mod. Only for a couple of months would be good. To those who think Pat would do a good job, we need to make this clear and make it happen. I mean there are others who could probably do it, but Pat knows what hes doing and what he wants. So everyone.. discuss, and I hope that it would work!

but I remember when I was a mod and I was doing a great job, and AudioBoxers told Jason I wasn't just because he didnt like me...So yeah I think I should be one again also.

When pat made his thread yesterday, and i was in the chat, i was thinking we might need new mods. I just didn't want to say it because bill was in there, and i didn't want him to think hewas doing a bad job.

But yes, i think seth and pat should be mods, if they want to be.

Bill is doing a good job right now.
Im not saying they're aren't bad, I think it would be good to have another mod.

And Seth, Audio is gone now so maybe it could be different.

I think we do need another mod....because technically, Brandon is an admin. He has all access, just like Tate, and most likely the Used Roomate. Brandon should be in charge of issues outside of the mod's powers....including unbanning old names of people who never really did anything on the old name....(i.e. Cole and Amber), and Bill and the new mod(s) should be in charge of getting rid of useless posts and banning offensive or useless users.

Not saying Brandon and Bill aren't doing good, because I do think they're doing well. But nothing is really being Moderated....which is what a MODERATOR is supposed to do. I think someone like Pat or maybe Seth....wait, not Seth. Just Pat...would be good at removing useless posts/ threads.

Of course I'd love to be a mod also, but I make too many useless posts myself...It'd be kind of hypocritical to end up deleting other people's stupid posts and having mine still be there.

What else...if there is a new mod, he/she and the other mods/admins should discuss, if a crackdown on useless posts will happen, a system of "checks and balances", or basically, making sure that they themselves don't make useless posts. Example: If Brandon makes a useless post, Bill deletes it. Just because he's an admin doesn't mean he's better.

the board doesnt need new moderators really. what do you want them to do? ban all the new people that are posting too much? would that get things back to the way "they used to be"? i dont see much difference in the way the forum was before and now. any changes are not due to a lack of moderatoing but becuae oif the kidns of people that are signing up and posting a lot more than usual. so why dont you all just sit tight and shut your traps. this kind of stuff happens all the time, lots of newbies and annoying posts, then the forum "dies" and gets borin, then there is a big increase in irrelevant sex threads, next people threaten to leave... this isnt naything new, just alot of you havent been here long enough to know that.

If bad threads are made, you just don't post in them. The more you complain, the more posts that follow, the longer it stays on top. If you think a thread is lame, just ignore it. There's no such thing as too many threads as long as they're not redundant. I think it's good to have tons of new threads each day instead of keeping a few going for nearly a week.

Extra mods aren't really necessary. People don't need to be banned. I mean, unless they're spamming, who gives a fuck what they say? If a thread gets offensive, it can just be locked. Things don't need to be censored.

I'm saying that alot of these new threads ARE redundant. And that i've heard that other forums are real strict on making useless posts. i'd like to see a bit of a crackdown on useless posts though, i mean, there's been a few too many stating that they like (insert random food) here. and i'm not real big on banning, but spammers definitely need to be banned.

To be fair, that kid has over 100 posts in one day. So while that question may not have warranted a rude response, it's understandable that this person is getting on some people's nerves.

well technically its not much of an overload deleting or locking threads. no one expects anyone to be on the forum 24/7 so some threads may go un-noticed. lately though i have been eliminating utterly useless threads, though many of u may not realize it cause i catch said threads early.

in all honesty for now i think brandon and i can regulate so the need for another mod isnt completely necessary. if the forum grows out of hand its definitely something to look into but like cole said earlier, this forum goes through certain periods.
