New kid/profile help?

Hi! I'm new, and don't quite understand how to code my profile on here. I tried html, but my profile became character-soup, and I tried to use CSS, but I don't really get how to use it, so it didn't work.

What form of coding works on profiles here, and where can I find a tutorial for it?

You cannot add HTML coding on your AP profiles. They're all standard, clean profiles that you may only add text to in the type-in boxes provided for each category.

Glittery banners, backgrounds, etc cannot be added.

No. The only thing you can do is type your interests, favorites, etc in the text boxes given. We like our user-profiles here at AP simple and clean.
