I did I did. Outside of the fact that most of the characters are the worst people in the history of film, it was very good. Emile Hirsch clearly channels a character who suffered from little man syndrome in it, but it featured some seriously good performances. I cannot believe I'm going to say this, but Justin Timberlake was great in it. He was extremely likeable, intense, and made a few highly dramatic scenes soar. I was very impressed. Plus, Ben Foster was INSANE in it. I am being literal about this, I'm convinced he took crazy pills and was told to improvise. It features an amazing scene with him, Karate, and a party. It's almost a must see for this scene alone.
No less, the point of the whole thing is it's a quality film about a real life occurrence in which young people do dumb, dumb things, and how they deal with it. I'd say it's a quality film that at times left me wondering what is the point of the whole thing. But yes, I enjoyed it and would recommend it to people that can handle extremely frustrating junior gangsters and the exploits they get themselves into. I'd give it a solid B.

i was probably the most excited person on planet earth for this movie to release as ive been waiting for well over a year for it. even with my massive man crush on emile hirsch aside, this movie is not that good. if you don't expect much from it then you won't be let down and it is a decent movie but there is basically no surprises in the entire movie and i am awful at predicting 'what happens next.' jt is in like every scene too which could make or break the movie for you haha. he is more involved than 'johnny truelove' pretty much.

Alright, I just watched this tonight so I figured I'd bump it. I see generally positive reviews and I have to say that I really enjoyed it. It's not a perfect film but the reason I liked it so much is because I was so surprised. I went into it thinking Emile was gonna steal the screen, but fucking Ben Foster owned this movie. He was so insane.
Has anyone else now seen this? If you haven't, I'd definitely say it's worth 2 hours.
Trivia (may include spoilers):
To prepare for his role in this movie, actor Ben Foster asked one of his friends who was an ex-crystal meth addict for guidance. The friend introduced him to a group of people who gave Foster an all-access pass into the lifestyle.
Ben Foster risked his sight for the movie by adding glaucoma drops to his eyes for much of the shoot to dilate his pupils, making him appear to be high. He'd hide in the bushes at night and cover his eyes between takes to keep the lights from shining into them. He would also talk to Nick Cassavetes with his eyes closed.
The word "fuck" and its derivatives is said 367 times.
In a scene where they have a fight, Sharon Stone hit Ben Foster so hard that his nose started bleeding. He told her to do so, because he said the scene needed to be as realistic as possible.

Amazing movie, especially ben fosters performance as a speed freak, and justin timberlakes performance was suprisingly well especially at the end of the movie, he just blew me away.. I think its a very depressing movie just because it based on a true story and I actually read up on it, so I could understand it more, and its just crazy how someone so young could do something so stupid and get away with it for so long.. But yeah the movie is really good and even watching it now its still intense.

i was real surprised that i liked this movie, but the story was just so compelling. justin timberlake did a very good job and i was thoroughly impressed with his acting save 1 or 2 scenes. i thought anton yelchin did a splendid job as the kid who was kidnapped. for me he really stole the show. knowing that the story was true i think really lent a lot to the movie as well.

I first of only wanted to see it because Justin Timberlake is in it, but it actually turned out to be a kinda good movie, I watched it about 5 times since.
But considering that the story is based on a real thing that happened...it's a pretty 'heavy' movie and I think that the movie makers should have re-written the ending because I watched the movie in California, close to where the story took place and the people, who followed the tragedy all agreed that it shouldn't have been to close to the real thing.

I saw Green Day like two years back. They invited people on stage and tried to teach them songs, and Billie Joe gave this girl his guitar. O ya and it started raining during When September Ends. I wasn't much of a fan until after that concert. They sounded really good live.
