why is it that most time travel movies have some crazy fucked up moment involving parents and kids.

Back to the future: marty kisses his mother back in the fifties therefor causing her to name her first son Marty.

Terminator: john conner sends his best friend back in time to save and impregnate his mother so that he can save the human race.

i know there are others.


the idea has always been very interesting to me (but so has alchemy). would you go back to change shit if you could? and i dont mean petty shit like stopping jerry bruckhiemer from ever making a movie (that would be nice), but stopping hitler, or stalin, or palpot.......... do you think it would actually make things worse or would it have all been for not ,cause some other crazy fuck that should have been killed by one of the previous crazy fucks went on an even more caustic shitfest. and if you believe this is it because you think all things happen for a reason and does this mean you must believe in a higher power.

does fate or freewill have any bearing on this.

this probably doesnt make anysense at all and if any of the first 2 posts reply to delete this i will.





oh and to what sigh said the other day about a tree falling in the woods and it not making a sound that is true but not for the reason he stated. sound travels via vibrations and vibrations must be picked up by a reciever (ie a non deaf ear or a richter type machine) other wise the vibrations travel till it loses all intensity.

that is interesting cantonokdahustle(cant spell ur name sry) but i was thinking more on the lines of the philosophical view of sound. Why should sound exist if nothing can hear it? To affect only non-living or concious objects? It has no reason to exist.

And to time travel, i think the best answer wud be that there are infinite dimensions of time, an infinite number of posisblites, so when you change time you essentialy either "create" a new dimension or are transferred to that one. Possibly your dimensions "overlap" Of course, time is just somehting we made up.

I recommend a Universe in a nutshell. That book is so deep. Its by Stephen Hawking

i wont pretend to convey any real intelect to the subject. but i do believe that the philosophy you hold takes a strong belief in a higher power. and im not saying that it is wrong i am just a very tangible person i really need facts to be able to bring forth a theory. therefor i do not really think "reason" has anything to do with reality.

anything is possible i think and i will never know the answers to these questions...but its fun to debate them.
