Since when does singing folk or acoustic make you sing like you're from the South? Ive listened the new album at least a dozen times by now, and I hear no southern accent.

"i never really listened to his solo stuff but its not all that great" How would you know if you haven't really listened to it?

How can he fake a song that he wrote for his wife?

Good video, nice song, well done.

no. I think they sound very different.

no. if mr. adams were ever in a jam for cash, he'd easily win an infringement suit with this song. not to mention a good portion of the rest of this album.

stick to thrice, dustin.

i feel dumber when I read these threads, but I can't stop.

I have listened to this cd so many times that if it were a cassette tape it would be well worn out.

You're incompetent.

Anyway, I love this album. This is the only song that has a really huge country feel too it and even though I'm not a fan of country, I still like it. Consider the Ravens is by-far my favorite though.

11.99 when i looked it up last night. its only 9.98 at target.

i agree with whoever commented on seeing the wife and baby in the video, that was really cute.
i love this song, and havent stopped listening to it in a few days. its even my ringtone.

oh really? i'd love to hear what lead you to this obviously more-than-scientific conclusion about my ability to function properly. because as of right now, i'm baffled as to how you got "incompetent" from that post. perhaps, coincidentally, it was simply the result of YOUR incompetence. i guess that's your call though, being you're the authority on this sort of thing.

American CD prices are ridiculous. The average CD in the UK would be about $25 in America, lucky yanks.

I'm a huge Ryan Adams fan. styles are similar, but not any grounds for plagiarism. They're so different, imo. Every singer-songwriter/folk/alt-country/whatever artist is going to sound somewhat similar. get over it. Dustin's good, Ryan Adams is good.

Lol @ the people all over Dustin for experimenting with new music, and in my opinion doing an amazing job. I haven't put this CD down since the day it was released. What's the point in replying if your not into his solo album? mabye you should be the one sticking to thrice...

aloneatlastnj
01/23/07, 07:06 PM
if you're expecting something even remotely close to the 'thrice' style, you're sadly mistaken. No one should look down on him as an artist for pursuing a different style of music outside of the realm of his band, a style of which he happens to love. In my opinion he does a damn fine job. the songs on Please Come Home can be put up against those by Cash and Springsteen, which is saying something.
