People are the cancer of the world
Pollution is in the air
We're choking on our own fumes
Clouds of Hate and Violence
Fog our streets
There's so many labels
Too much confusion
Which way leads up
and which one leads down

There is smoking in the nonsmoking section
Too many people lost with no direction
We can be the cause of the fire
or the ones that put them out
There's smoking in the nonsmoking section
And time is running out

Uh, the X's would be on the wrists, not on the fist....

As for the poem, it's cool.

I disliked it. It seems like an excellent attempt at an NOFX song. Which is not a good thing. Both uninformative and a bad attempt at a political opinion.

The road up and the road down are one and the same dude. Your sending out a great message but your not doing it strongly enough. I smoke and after I read this I thought to myself "There are people smoking in the nonsmoking section!? Glad to see we still have some rebels out there." Dont feel bad though. Anyone, anywhere has yet to come up with a strong message about this kind of thing.

It actually isn't finished yet but its not even about smoking.

Hell is a place of fire according to the Bible and therefore is the smoking section. The earth was intended to be pure and clean, but imorrality floods the earth instead. That is where I came up with the concept.

That is not even close to what I was thinking, lol. Very cool concept though. My suggestion would be to make that more apparent in the poem. But thats just me.

No, I was just fucking around, it had the whole edge-core vibe to it... It is growing on me too.

Well, I am straight-edge, therefore I have X's on my wrists, so I just thought I would point that out to you. If you have an X on your fist, then you need to figure out what that means...

Why must you have the X's on your wrists?

There's no reason to show it off to the world, it's something personal you do.

hahaha, dude. Straight-edge kids draw X's on their fists... they mark kids at shows that are underage with X's on their fists so that people can know they can't be sold alcohol. That is why the X on the fist is used to denote straight-edge.

I know what straight-edge is, and I understand that the "X" is the mark.

My point was: Why do you need to do it? It's a lifestyle choice, you don't need to flash it to the world. (Well, I suppose if your lifestyle choice were to be a nudist, you'd have to flash it to the world, but you know what I mean...)

Yeah man I completely agree with you. It really bothers me that people think they need to flash that stuff to the world. Its like a vegitarian who after telling you four times already says "I havent eaten meat in four years." I just want to say back to them. "Wow... I havent eaten a banana in a month. But you dont see me bragging about it." Heres a tip for all you straight edge kids. If someone offers you a beer a cigarette or weed or something. Dont give me your whole life story on why you dont drink or smoke. I dont care that your dad got drunk and fell down the stairs into the basement where your mom was hiding, smoking pot and eating all of your cheetos. Just say no, okay? Thanks.

I'm not even edge anymore, I smoke cigarettes, I should request a name change...

I just choose to do it, I've been straight-edge for about 3 years and the fact that I'm one of the only people in our school that can actually say that, it's something to be proud of. It's something that says that I am devoted to what I believe in, and I don't care what people think.

If you don't care what people think then why do you promote it with Black X's on your wrists?

Aha, I win again.

I'd like to add one more note: You're only 16. You've been straight-edge for 3 years?

Well, then, I've been straight-edge for 15 years! Hah!

Just because you don't do it now, when it's illegal for you too, mind you, does not mean you won't when you're able to. There's nothing special about being straight-edge as a teenager. Maybe if you're straight-edge still at 30, it's something to be proud of (Hopefully you'll realize how stupid those X's look by then.) but really, you're not accomplishing anything by being 'straight-edge' as a teenager, because plenty are.

Can you actually be "edge" when you aren't even legally able to smoke or drink?

Whether or not people do so legally doesn't matter. At least when I'm legal to I can say that I never did anything to fuck it up, and I can say that I'm straight-edge.

Yeah, because that's really saying a lot.

The only thing that doesnt change is change itself.
