ah, yes. here it is. a time to rag on those bands that you cannot stand.

for me, it has always been those bands that insist on dressing up in costumes and wearing makeup. it's about music, not appearances. so, because of this pet peeve, i never listen to my chemical romance, slipknot, kiss, or any band similar in nature.

oh yeah, and i choose to avoid coldplay as well, simply because everybody seems to like them. i don't know why i am bothered by that, but i just am. it's piano-driven soft rock, and should not be so highly praised.

30stm upsets me because i did somewhat enjoy their spacey first album, but then i completely despised the next release. they've turned into this emo behemouth, and yes, their emo fans are extremely annoying.

yes, i also hate most mainstream rock, country, and rap.

but i wouldn't go so far as to say that i hate all rap. there are plenty of intelligent and original rap artists out there, you just have to dig a little deeper, as with rock music. some good ones: common, mos def, talib kweli, atmosphere, and the roots, to name a few.

but anyways, back to the band bashing...

I agree that if you enjoy a band you should listen to them, but I think he feels they're overrated. Whereas he may have listened to them from time to time if they were just a regular band (as we all listen to bands that are just mediocre from time to time), he is turned off by the fact that so many people like them so much?

green day. i used to be in love with them. but then american idiot came out and not only did the song suck, but the message was even worse. any american person who listens to green day is just degrading themselves.

the killers... have ok music but i'd tell anyone to listen to hot hot heat over them. hot hot heat like paved the way for them to be mainstream. and they completely deny it and it's ridiculous, but it makes me not want to listen to them. i'm just a stupid hot hot heat fan-girl though so...
