I'll admit it was better than I expected. But it still wasn't very good. Sean Bean is good at being creepy though.

As someone who has seen the original, can someone tell me what is retained and what is changed?
Also is it better/worse than the original?
And what is the violence level like. I only want to see it if there is some good kills, some hot ass or (and this is a big 'or') if it is a good film

There are two kids instead of just the one guy, and it's a couple going on spring break. The scene at the end with the trucks is reversed. And I wouldn't say it's better or worse than the original considering I didn't the original was all that great, just another enjoyable horror movie to pass the time with friends (of course, I saw the remake alone). As for violence level? It's fairly violent, but a lot of the real violence is off camera and you only see bodies. There is one car chase scene that's pretty cool. There's also a hot chick in her underwear at one point which is always good, but no n00dz.

Platinum Dunes remakes all these old "classics" and I havent enjoyed one except for the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. They did amityville horror and it sucked, it could have been so much better and creepier. I dont really have any intention on seeing the hitcher.

I don't believe you. However, Sean Bean does rock. This should be the Official Sean Bean Rocks thread instead.

Just so long as nobody mentions his performance in Silent Hill...

Best things about this movie was Sean Bean being naturally creepy and Sophia Bush looking really hot.
Besides that, it doesn't hold a candle to the orginial, but it still wasn't as bad as The Fog.
