Scanners - Violence Is Golden
Record Label - Dim Mak Records
Release Date - June 6, 2006
Who:
London based quartet that has shared the stage with bands such as The Rakes, The Bravery, and Forward Russia since March 2005.
How Is It?
The Scanners debut full-length, Violence Is Golden, is an album that deviates between many different styles such as post-punk and synth-laden new wave, and at times comes across as inconsistent. Despite these occasional inconsistencies in style, Violence Is Golden has a few hidden gems scattered throughout its eleven tracks such as the engaging single “Lowlife”, a track that will have listeners fighting back the urge to press the “repeat” button on their stereo remote. Scanners have laid the foundations for a successful future among the indie crowd, and with a little fine-tuning, could reach the level of recognition garnered by their labelmates.
Notable Tracks: "Lowlife", "Changing Times", and "Violence Is Golden"
