Scanners - Violence Is Golden
Record Label - Dim Mak Records
Release Date - June 6, 2006

Who:

London based quartet that has shared the stage with bands such as The Rakes, The Bravery, and Forward Russia since March 2005.

How Is It?

The Scanners debut full-length, Violence Is Golden, is an album that deviates between many different styles such as post-punk and synth-laden new wave, and at times comes across as inconsistent. Despite these occasional inconsistencies in style, Violence Is Golden has a few hidden gems scattered throughout its eleven tracks such as the engaging single “Lowlife”, a track that will have listeners fighting back the urge to press the “repeat” button on their stereo remote. Scanners have laid the foundations for a successful future among the indie crowd, and with a little fine-tuning, could reach the level of recognition garnered by their labelmates.

Notable Tracks: "Lowlife", "Changing Times", and "Violence Is Golden"

Wow Hydrahead and Dim Mak releases getting once overs? This doesn't make sense. I think the once overs should be reserved for bands that have sent in things themselves with no touring plans and such. Bands that have great labels/pr should not be getting a once over on a wensite as bit as ap.net.

No problem, dude. Your hard work cranking out the user reviews is not going unnoticed. Keep up the good stuff!
