These are my recommendations for the week:
Lansdowne (http://www.myspace.com/lansdowne) - I heard this band getting a lot of love from some forum users here on AP, and after getting a copy of their EP, I am quite impressed as well. For a band that has been together exactly one year, their sound has a ton of maturity and soul. Along with Fly Upright Kite (http://www.myspace.com/flyuprightkite), it shows that there is more than Sam Adams coming out of Boston.
Lovedrug (http://www.myspace.com/flyuprightkite) - This is the type of band that reminds me why I love music. I was pretty big into Pretend You're Alive, and got hooked by their live show. However, everything changes with the band's new record, Everything Starts Where It Ends. Lovedrug has grown and matured more than I could have dreamed and made an absolutely epic, majestic album. I am totally blown away. Look for this one to be a Top 3 at year's end.
Driving East (http://www.myspace.com/drivingeast) - The newest Militia Group signee just released a digital EP that is about as catchy as pop punk gets. If you took All Time Low (http://www.myspace.com/drivingeast) and extrapolated what they would sound like in 5 years, the result would be something like Driving East. Listen to "Come On Come On" on their AP stream (http://www.absolutepunk.net/drivingeast), and try to avoid a smile.
