i've never felt a day so cold. it should have been expected, how can the sun keep us in heat when we are gathered in a circle remembering your death? I promised myself I wouldn't cry...but I couldn't help to tear up. I know it didn't help the situation but it helped me cope.

as the sun set itself on the other side of the horizon we took the ashes that represented your body and spread them evenly amongst the waves.

we returned to our group and this time feasted to not celebrate your death, but acknowledge that our lives must - and will- move on. so don't feel bad, you made our live better in a way.

now we can move on and not worry about the inevitable. now you aren't living out everyday in an obviously unbearable pain. now you are at peace, and if you are ine peace...then so am i.

years later i am returned to the shore where we said our goodbyes. i walk in - wet up to my knees- and i can still feel you swimming around. and today the water is warmer then ever, you must be smiling. that always used to make me feel warm when i was cold.

you asked me if i knew that you would love me no matter what happens, just a day before your death. like you knew it was goign to happen. i believe you.

Sounds like a great eulogy, but for a song i'm not making teh connection, I like the idea of honoring a friend, but like most your otehr songs it is broad and doesn't mesh well together, a lot of the lines are forced to make it sound better which just makes it sound wors in the end.

when i write my lyrics i just write them as if im talking then when we make the song we think of a riff and everything for the guitar and we start to sing the words to make it fit and take out what doesnt fit.

i didnt think any of these would be able to be put to music but they sound really good behind music.
