View Full Version : We May Never Recover

Felt the ashes falling soft across my tounge
Chewing on the remnants of the sun
Well the moon crumbled to dust as I sat on the roof
I watched the cars on the highway go speeding by...
[Pre-Chorus]
In the end, doesn't it all feel a bit the same?
For a moment's worth of ecstasy you glady trade your soul and name
Oh, in the end, doesn't it all come down to guilt?
Feeling a tad remorseful, about all the walls you've built...
[Chorus]
So here we are, painted in shallow shades of red, my reckless lover
So here we are, once again, this time ...we may never recover...

Felt the raindrops falling soft against my face
Coughing up the remnants of the place
Where we spent our youth, or at least the part that felt secure
I watched the interest slowly disappear from your eyes
[Repeat Pre-Chorus/Chorus]

[interlude]
I should be singing 'bout how you're the "lady" to my "thug"
Instead I'm saying I'm so "sorry about that"...
Well I wish that you could tell me, exactly what I'm supposed to say
Can we retrive our battered souls from within the fray?

[Repeat Pre-Chorus/Chorus]
[Instrumental to end]

Well there you go. Gold stars if you can find the (poorly executed) Alkaline Trio refrences haha. No, I don't know. you tell me if they're poorly executed or not. I just thought they'd be a neat idea to fit in there, as Alk3 are one of my all time favorite bands, and a big influence on my songwriting

I liked this one. I think it would make a great song. I fell in love with the first three lines. Oh yeah "Every Thug Needs A Lady" from Good Mourning and "Sorry About That" from Goddamnit... Gold stars please. They fit in well. I love ALK3. I was listening to them yesterday and rocking out to "My Little Needle" I have to buy the CD/DVD that was released on tuesday.

Thanks! I'm glad the Alkaline Trio refrences fit in well. I wasn't too sure of them at first. I'm glad you liked it though. And yes, I'm going to definatley go out and buy "Remains" this weekend. Thanks again for the feedback!

Thank you very much! Yes, the quotes did give em away, but oh well, I guess they were pretty obvious to begin with. Oh, and I forgot...here's gold stars for both Strobelife and you, dude haha.
Thanks alot for letting me know I'm a "damn good writer" haha. Thanks again.

Yeah, I've got several...Warbrain...We Can Never Break Up...and Saide I guess too, unless the version on Remains is different than the one on Crimson, as I presume it is...but oh well the DVD looks like it'll make up for the songs I've got already. Can't wait to get it haha

Yeah I really cant wait to take a gander at that DVD. It should be mezmerizing. Well... maybe not mezmerizing, but at least it will be undoubtedly drenched in awesomeness.

Yeah that's one I've been interested in, but never seen. It's coming to where I have to order just about everything I want to buy, as far as music/DVDs etc is concerned, since none of the stores around Shelbyville have anything...I was lucky to find the Lawrence Arms' "Oh! Calcutta!" at a Best Buy in Greenwood...other than that, though, anything by them or bands like Jawbreaker or the Cardinal Sin, other bands I like...are next to impossible to find in stores...

I ended up with two copies of @ the metro. I order of my music DVD's from the internet too. I usually hit up amazon. I love the ETID DVD shit happens. It is hilarious. Could have gone for more concert footage though. And on friday I will be the proud owner of Remains.

Thats cool. Every Time I Die are pretty great. I've got all three of their CDs, so far my fave is probably Hot Damn!, but they're all pretty cool. Haven't seen their DVD but I'm sure it is hilarious haha. I'll check it out sometime. And I'm pretty sure that this weekend I'll be a "proud owner" of Remains as well haha
