So I find out today that I have to take medication for the next 9 moths, or I may get a really nasty disease (no, not a VD you fuckers)
Here's the kicker.....I can't drink for the 9 months
So I'm headed home for the weekend to give my liver one last beating. Hopefully it'll be a fatal beating.

Second, I call bullshit on the whole "don't mix medication with alcohol" myth. Adam Corolla thinks it's a sham and I do too.

No it's not masturbation. It's an early form of macular degeneration (AMD). No cure. Hereditary. But come on, no medication for 9 months big deal. And when i said "some people have it worse", i meant like the girl who had to put up the ebay auctions. Not me......

It is a sham to some extent. I know about this stuff, it all really depends on which medication your on. Sometimes you may just have to take the medication in the morning and get bombed at night and it's fine. There are some cases where certain medications and alcohol can interact though. But Doctors tell you not to drink on almost everything just to be safe.

Some medications are toxins to your liver. Alcohol is also a toxin to your liver. If you take one in conjuction with the other, you've got a pretty good chance of liver failure.
But, you know, your point of view sounds pretty damn educated. Is "bombed" a medical term? Or did you learn this from Schoolhouse Rocks? Doctors don't tell you not to drink "almost everything", they simply tell you what drugs will have a negative interaction with the alcohol. Don't be so fucking ignorant.

In the kid's defense, I've also heard doctors tell patients not to mix almost any medication with alcohol. Maybe things are done differently in Canada, eh?

Im not being fuckin ignorant, I know that it is not recommended to drink alcohol with many medications. However, It won't do you harm to have a few drinks with certain medications even though it says "No alcohol". One of my Doctors was prescribing me something once and she said "Im supposed to tell you not to drink with this but I wont lie to you. You'll be fine. Just take it easy and don't go overboard."
That was my whole fucking point. Although it is not recommended to drink with many medications, you can get away with it in some cases. You don't have to jump down my throat.

That's absolutely correct. I could easily be wrong, but I was made to beleive that alcohol doesn't affect certain drugs as it does others.
