left leaning?

ok I was just looking at political views of all the staff writers here and most are some degree of liberal. not bashing that stance because I personally have some liberal leanings...but I was thinking, shouldn't AP get a more politically diverse writing crew? I counted ONE writer who said his views were conservative (moderately, at that). again, not saying I dont like liberal writers, but why not add some conservative to balance out/spice things up?

Yeah, about what he said. It's all lies. That forum is a rabid pit of dogs which are incapable of having discussion without insult. Hardly anyone posts in there aside from a handful of users for this reason, including myself.

I've PMed the Politics mod before about rectifying the problem and he refused to do anything. I'd just stay out of it if I were you, you'll just get your head ripped off in most cases. There were maybe two occasions where I was able to have a pejorative-free discussion in there.

We don't hire based upon political views. In fact, that issue is not even brought up when considering someone to hire. Instead, we look at writing ability and commitment. I never go into the politics forum and could not even tell you what direction each staff member leans politically. On the other hand, I could tell you which genre of music they each prefer and how often they contribute on the site.
