Park Has Broken Up

Dear fans and friends,
During the course of the past months my priorities concerning Park, have changed due to personal affairs in my life. These changes have lead me to ultimately quit the band. It is a decision that I have been pining over for quite some time now, as I did not want to make a rash choice. For the past ten years being in Park is all I have known, and leaving that is scary, yet I wouldn’t trade that time for anything else in the world. The friends we have made, places we’ve been, floors we’ve slept on, and shows we have played are unimaginable. It is much more than I ever thought we would accomplish.

I would like to thank everyone at Lobster Records and Arsenal Management, for taking a chance on us, former band mates, our fans, friends, and relatives who supported us through the last decade. There’s no way we could have ever have accomplished what we did without you. I’m not going to name all of you because the list would be way to long and I would be afraid of leaving someone out, but I’m sure you all know who you are. You have given us the greatest gift a musician could ever receive. You believed in us.

Parksingallnite was my original name on here. I never thought in a million years they would call it quits, even in the midst of their undeserved underexposure. That band was the only band that ever made me feel like they really appreciated me being there, at their shows, singing along. No band deserved success more then them, sad to see they never got what they truly deserve. God bless them.

Was I the only one that noticed he said "I've decided to quit the band", then immediately started talking as if the band had broken up, even when this wasn't explicitly stated? I mean, some bands do go on after the vocalist leaves, but if they don't want to that's perfectly understandable.

Park is my second favorite band and it's a scary thought to realize that they're not going to be around anymore. Being that the brake up happened not too long ago, I think it's unlikely that fans knew them before they broke up. Also, someone doesn't have to have bought their albums to be a fan. I am a huge fan of Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin and don't own any of their albums, does that mean I'm really not a fan?

Their last show is going to be in Springfield,IL, where they r from, just like me, as a fan of the band for 5 years, and as someone who has been to CD release shows for their last 2 CDs and after seeing them countless times, this is especially hard for me, but there is a new band being formed with Brandon Carnes(ex-Midnight Fall), the band will consist of Miles and Alex of Park, for anyone who never got to hear MF or who doesn't know who Brandon is, you are in for a real treat, I've known Brandon since he was like 12 years old and the instant I heard him play, I said that he was a child prodigy and that he would be huge someday and I think that this could be his breakout band, it will be very reminiscent of how The Graduate are getting big. I have definetly been following park for a while... I remember pre-ordering the "greetings" comp from lobster and when I got it I heard "clue me in" for the first time. I was blown away. I found "no signal" at tower about a week later and i was just in amazement by how this band could be so solid, technical, and catchy on top of all that.

I got hooked and never looked back.... as the other 2 cds came out I ordered them and was pleased just as equally. I liked how they could keep that signature park sound and keep it fresh with every record. this is a big loss truly a big loss. I'm just regret never being able to see them live. however I don't recall them ever coming around here anyway. ill find away to come to them for the last show. ill still continue to introduce new people to this amazing band.

Its really entertaining to see some of the weird rumors and such that are being passed as fact... Ladd made a difficult decision. Go to his myspace and ask him why hes leaving, he will probably tell you. I have nothing but respect for him and his decision.

Just because you hear a band later than other people does not mean you are not a "fan". I didn't find out about Park until Building a Better was a few months away from coming out.. I pre-ordered it and picked up It Won't Snow because I was blown away by the band.. and why would people post about them if they didn't know of the band before they broke up? Some people have WAY too much time on their hands, but not THAT much surely? Granted they .. WE... may not be as big a fan as you, they don't buy plane tickets to see their last show.. but that doesn't mean they aren't a "fan" of the band. SADDEST NEWS EVER.... Park was one of those defining bands in my life during the highschool years. Their guitar player came up to me at warped tour a long time ago with a cd player and asked me if I would listen to a track from their first record... been a fan ever since. They will be missed.
