I have retarded friends that idolize that movie and try to emulate the lifestyle.

As you can see by my screen name, I am way in to HST. Fear and loathing is a great movie and a better book, but I reccomend all of Thompsons work.

Great film, great writer, great movement. I haven't watched the film on anything, but I love it all the same.

i watched it sober in a dark room, and left fucked up.
i think it's hilarious. i also know this pathological liar who, when he's on certain drugs, walks around with a cigarette in a mouth piece, wears sunglasses, and insists on quoting every line johnny depp says in that movie. i hate him.

The movie's pretty accurate to the book if I recall, but of course the book is better. The only deviation I can think of where I think the movie is better than the book is with Fight Club and even then it's just because I like the ending of the movie better.

So first 3 chapters were almost exactly like the movie, haha.

Love the cover art, but I wish Criterion would put a better Gilliam film. this may be my least favorite of his. I demand a Baron Munchausen Criterion!
