I have nothing against words being spoken in songs. Invalid Litter Dept. is a fantastic song. One of my favorite bands is the Hold Steady, and the guy barely sings at all. The Approaching Curve sucks because it is whiny, melodramatic, and boring. Actually, a lot of Tim McIlrath's work is whiny, melodramatic and boring, come to think of it.

Their are so many great songs by Rise Against I dont know where to start. The first song I ever heard was Infection and it blew my mind. the combination of vocals and drumming mixed with a simple riff was outstanding. I know that Prayer for the Refugee is their biggest song but I have yet to find it as amazing as some say it is. For what it's worth, fantastic drumming and vocals. The Good Left Undone was always a catchy song to me ut acted as a prelude to possibly one of my favorite songs by Rise Against, Survive. Not only does this song have perfect lyrics a perfect message, and perfect vocals, but the band also seems to play perfectly together in this song. Along with it's notorius guitar riff I find this song simply perfect.
I forgot to note that Suffer and the Witness was my first album and Counter Sirens was my second. I could write paragraphs about every song on this album but I'll spare you for now. Paper Wings was perfection with memorable lyrics, a somewhat scratchy yet still good vocals, and fast pase drumming, but my favorite part was the short acoustic bit. Swing Life Away was one of the most moving songs for me. This song kept me sane and away from thoughts of suicide. This song has outstanding vocals and lyrics along with a more then mediocre acoustic guitar. Rise Against never fails to produce amazing acoustic songs.
My third album wast Revolutions per Minute. The first song that comes to mind is voices off camera: My favorite part in this song is when the ryhtem is broken and their is somewhat of a vocal solo. Halfway Their, much like Swing Life Away, touched me. It made me not want to give up on life. Torches has one of RA's best Guitar riffs and for that I cannot leave it out. And finally a bonus track of the Clash song "Any Way you Want It" is possibly one of my favorite songs because it made me think of love which most RA songs dont and it sounds like no other RA song.
My space is running short so let me quickly cover a few more song. I would but Everchanging in the Swing Life Away/ Halfway Their category. War Hero is Lyrics and acoustics at it's best. And Audience of One along with Savior are two songs worth noting. I am sorry if my thoughts seem messy but these words are coming straight from my head without any thought so please forgive me.
