Actually, having seen Five Easy Pieces, I'm going to have to disagree. Seeing the way he fucks the shit out of the girl at the beginning, I'm tempted to believe that is in fact his real penis.

I've found a way to tie Pan's into two of my classes this semester, I am writing multiple papers on it, its a great film to study theory wise.

this movie also gave me a better appriciation for leonardo cicaprio (sp). I always thought he was pretty lame but he was really good in this movie.

and leo was always good.
mark wahlberg was awesome.

but i didnt like the VERY last thing that happened in the movie.

No way. That last part was the most needed thing in the movie. It makes perfect and total sense, and is just so badass when you think about it. It could not have ended in a better way in my opinion.

Edit: If you're talking about the rat, then I see what you're saying. But if you're talking about what happened before that, then just go with what I said above.

I thought the ending was kinda weak.

I read a different ending somewhere else where Costigan dies just like one of Costello's regular cronies, and gets a regular funeral with Madolyn being one of the only ones to attend. Then Sullivan gets the big decorated police funeral.

The original Departed (Infernal Affairs), was actually the second in a trilogy, with the third movie a prequel to everything.

And from my understanding, the sequel in question with De Niro would be a true sequel, not a prequel as in the original.
