if you are "friends" with someone and you ask them to hang out with you and another friend, is that using them for a ride? ( i dont drive yet)

"friends" so do you mean you said hi to them once or twice but usally make fun of them? and now theyre useful becuase they can provide transportation?
if you really have to ask anyone this then youre probably just using them and you have a guilty conscience

im not lying! we hung out last night and went riding on go-karts and everything. im closer to him than anyone else.. i think he might have just been in a bad mood or maybe he was joking
maybe he wasn't joking but chances are he misses you and probably wants to be closer to you but i am the only one who would think that

Not at all! Before I got my license this guy used to drive me around. He would drive my friends too. If the person is your friend its not using them. That dude was my friend.

well he ended up hanging out with me last night anyway, so i was DEFINATELY lying about the whole thing.
i told him it made me upset that he said that and he told me that he was just upset, cuz his parents were giving him a hard time about his car. it was fun we went for yummy ice cream and then saw 28 days later, which was cool
phew I am glad that crisis is over

friends or not
it's only "using" if you TAKE THEM FOR GRANTED and EXPECT their services
nothing wrong with saying thank you, to make someone feel as though you actually appritiate that they helped you out

So would you say I USE my car cause i take it for granted and expect its services. I like to think of my car as my friend but I don't want to USE it.
