I know that, but there have been people with less than 1,000 posts with big avatars without a bold username...that's what I don't get

When the prestigious rules changed, it gave prestige to anyone who had two years registration, regardless of posts. Then when the 1,000 posts got added later, some people complained that they shouldn't have prestige taken away from them so they asked Jason and he let them keep it.

I think they should bump it down to 5,000 posts or something. At least 5,000. Hell, I'd settle for 9,000. But oh well. I'm getting there. Ever so slowly haha

That makes sense for most of the users, but I've noticed a couple of people with large avatars and their user name is not bolded, they have less than 10,000 posts, and a join date in 2006.
for example: Branevember31

They uped the 5000 because people are up in the 50,000 now... If someone can attain 50,000 what's so hard about 10,000?
... I love how it deletes posts when you delete your posts. otherwise I'd be spamming late at night in my own thread and then deleteing it :-p

You'd be better off doing it on a Sunday morning, night time is the time everyone is around on AP.

I think big avatars should be awarded to posters that do something special or make popular, long-lasting threads. Kind of like earning a merit badge. This policy would essentially reward and encourage quality posting. After all, certain users make one word, meaningless posts to get a higher post count. If they knew they had a chance for a big avatar they would put some thought into their words.

I once posted a thread that no one came into.
I don't think this would merit a large avatar, but I thought the thread was REALLY cool.
