View Full Version : Donald Trump for President?

Matt Chylak
01/12/11, 07:43 PM
"For the first time in my life, I'm actually thinking about it [running for president]," Trump told Fox News Channel. He added, "I see what's going on with this country and it's never been worse. What's happening is a disgrace."

Well, our country would have gone bankrupt many times over if it had to play by the same rules as corporations, so that puts him pretty much on par with some other leaders, financially anyway.

It would be nice to have someone who actually understands economics in office. i'm not saying i would vote for him, but I think he could help out America financially. He could also do good by letting people know how he gets his hair that way. However if he were elected he would probably turn the U.S. into one giant corporation--the United States of Trump. he's already on his way...

Yes he did... and it was an incredibly savvy business decision. Which would go to the point below me.

Agreed with all of it. Even the bit about his hair.

Hey lets vote for another corrupt businessmen as a politician! God bless America! Dam people must laugh at the US when they see things like this. Trump is not at all what I want in a president. The problem with Washington is that is has been run like a business and bringing in someone like Trump would be Bush 2.0. Trump is ultra Conservative in pretty much every way. I won't accept a social conservative as a president period end of story.

Businesses don't spend money they don't have. When that happens the business goes bankrupt. Washington has not been run like a business at all.

I don't see anything wrong with spending money you don't currently have. Business and households do it all the time with things like bonds and loans. But when the move to raise taxes later down the road becomes such political suicide that it never gets done, then we're in trouble.

It's a problem when it becomes chronic. Businesses eventually have to see a profit or they fold.

I guess that old business truism "you have to spend money to make money" is a myth.

Businesses spend money they don't have all the time, because they know that they'll get a return on their investment.

Wow, this post is fucking laughable, that's how uninformed it reads.

Businesses spend that money knowing they will be able to regain the cost. They don't take out a loan every time they purchase materials to make a product and they don't spend and spend year after year and expect to stay in business.

That's unnecessary.

Does the loan to open a business not count?

The loan is eventually repaid. The business has to be able to generate and survive on its own after a while. It can't keep receiving loan after loan.

He supports many things that I think most people agree with (or should)
-Single payer health care
-Opposes the Iraq war and ending the wars.
-Opposes the joining of the media outlets.
-Major advocate for gay rights, womens rights and minority rights
-Pro choice
-Wants to create green technology products that we can export.
-Keep jobs in America and punish companies who outsource American jobs.
-Believes in Global Climate Change.
-Wants to audit the federal reserve.
-Wants to end the Bush tax breaks for the upper elite rich.
-Give more benefits for small businesses including tax breaks for hiring new employees, more tax deductions and make it easier for small businesses to thrive.
-He wants to make big businesses accountable for the things they do to the economy like overturning the non-disclose act.

Please tell me how any of those are bad or would be bad for America?
