I just read The Republlic by Plato, and as far as philosophy is concerned I really enjoyed it. A very enlightening read. I don't really know what my favorite novel is......right now I'm hooked on a series by Terry Goodkind, a fantasy writer. They're awesome.

that is a good example of my previous post that I'm visual.

I like that movie because of the camera angles and backwards filming, not because of the plot. So reading the book wouldn't do much for me.

Plus I just am unable to concentrate while reading, so I just forget everything that I have read.

sorry guys but how can you say stephen king and john grissom are great authors when every book they write is a mirror image of the one before it, like music, writing is about evolution and i cant have much respect for authors who write to make money on thier book as thier only purpose, books should make you think, try reading J.D. ~Sigh~ Have you even read multiple books from each of these Authors to base your "Mirror Image" dispute on? I doubt that very highly seeing as how you spelled Grisham...Grissom....

Please explain how Danse Macabre and The Dark Side have any bearing on the other? Or are similar?

It and Carrie?

The Shining and The Stand?

Catcher In The Rye? Thats surface bullshit that was given as light summer reading in 5th grade...Come on now...

Stephen King is a WORLD RENOUND AUTHOR!!! He has been since the late 70's, early 80's! Best Seller! Please read The Stand, and then tell me that book didnt make you think....

It has to be the age bracket....It HAS to be...Im so pissed....I've never heard so much horseshit in my life....

Don't get me wrong, I've read most of John Grisham's books myself, but you can't call him a genius. His books are light creamy filler with no substance whatsoever. They're the literary equivalent of an Arnold Schwarzenegger movie.

Has anyone ever finished a John Grisham book and said "wow....I'll never look at life the same way again. The way those lawyers manipulated people....wow"

My favourite book is "The Andromeda Strain" by Michael Crichton. This also is not a literary masterpiece, and is pop-science crap, but I read all of Crichton's books when I was a kid, and I absolutely fucking love them.

The best book I've ever read is ether "Underworld" by Don DeLillo or "Pilgrim" by Timothy Findey
