Jena Berlin (http://www.myspace.com/jenaberlin) has found a happy home for their sophomore full-length Quo Vadimus, signing to Philadelphia-based Jump Start Records (http://www.jumpstartrecords.com/). Recorded by Steve Poponi (from the band Up Up Down Down (http://www.myspace.com/upupdowndown)), Quo Vadimus is the follow-up to the critically acclaimed Passion Waits As The Program Keeps Going and will be released later this year.
“Jump Start Records has always been incredibly supportive of Jena Berlin and have really stood up for us when we needed it,” stated drummer Jeff Meyers.
The past year has found this staunchly DIY-minded band relentlessly touring across the country with the likes of None More Black, Latterman and The Blackout Pact, making appearances at Macrock as well as The Fest in Gainesville. Jena Berlin has appeared on Deep Elm’s compilation series This Is Indie Rock and was recently named one of Alternative Press’ “100 Bands You Need To Know In 2007.”
Jump Start Records was born in 1996 and has nearly 50 releases in their catalog, including albums from A Wilhelm Scream and Belvedere. Says label owner Jeremy Myers of Jena Berlin “I've been a huge fan of the band for a long time and I'm stoked to be able to work with such hardworking and down-to-earth guys. Rarely do you get the chance to work with people you look up to and call friends as well."
A release date for Quo Vadimus has not been determined yet. In the meantime, Jena Berlin is currently booking a May tour with Nakatomi Plaza (http://www.nakatomiplaza.com/). More news to come…
