He should've just stayed out on top. He'll be the next Jerry Rice.
I just read this... I feel that he will be a decent 6th man where he can come off the bench and make a few shots or maybe just be a decoy

yea i guess that is the role that he wants to play...we'll probably be able to see how good he is during the all-star break's activities

there is no way pippen is a 6th man for a true contender (detroit, chicago in the east / dallas, pheonix, SA in the west) . He could be a sixth man for a mid level team with no shot ala nuggets, timberwolves, cavs. He would be a good fit in LA, but he's hardly the man to bring them over the top.
I do think he would be good influence on whatever team he goes to. I'd love to see him go to some of these mid level teams and teach them about passing and defense.
I still think he's a son of a bitch as a person though.

If Pippen's willing to sign a 10 day contract, he's willing to be a role player.

did Shawn Kemp ever make that comeback he was talking of? if so they should form a team
Shawn Kemp, Scottie Pippen, Alonozo Morning (yeah i know he still plays) and some other guys, though they all probably play the same position

Lol, you just listed 3 guys who all play different positions, dude. haha. in fact, scottie pippen created the term "Power Forward" for guys like Kemp...

yeah i don't care much for basketball, i watched it when i was younger but never really kept up w/ it, so didn't bother to learn players other than in that era, i didn't know if they all played the same positions or not :-\

haha, alright. Pippen is a small forward, Kemp is a power forward, Mourning is a center.

does anyone remember how awful pippen was at the end of his career? the man could hardly make it up and down the court for 5 minutes and was being beaten off the dribble regularly. he was worthless on offense as well beyond his passing savvy. he was the 9th or 10th man of the bench years ago. no chance he could make a club at this point i think

He brought the ball up often, but he wasn't the point. He was listed as a F/G for his entire career.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scottie_Pippen - listed as a SF there too.

i dont see how this could hurt a team if they have a roster space to use. pippen's experience and leadership can be a huge asset to a team. And hey if he can still make the shots. why not?

i dont think he can keep up with todays more fast paced game at 41.

why do all retired sports stars think they can come out of retirement and play?

I'd like pippen to come off the bench in utah.He had such a nice jump shot

Ugh why can't my favorite Chicago Bulls just retire and that be it (MJ and Pip)?

he wouldnt be close to a full time guy...or probably even a top of the line second stringer. If he can shoot still it doesnt matter how fast he is. he would be an asset in the locker room.
why do all retired sports stars think they can come out of retirement and play?
Because they can't get on Pros Vs Joes?

He should've just stayed out on top. He'll be the next Jerry Rice.
He didn't even retire on top. He was terrible when he retired. His scoring and minutes decreased each of his final 7 seasons.
And unless he's returning with D-Wade's knees, I don't think he'll be effective at all on the court. In the locker room, it could be a different story, though.

haha, scottie pippen made more money in salaries in his career than Jordan did. Weird.

Really? That's cool. Although, MJ more than made up for it from Nike alone, haha. I always liked Pippen.

Yeah, according to basketball reference Jordan never made over 5 mill a year until 97, when he made 30+ mill a year for 2 years. then he played at vet's minimum in washington. pipped made over 11mill a year with houston and portland.

Count the suns out, i cant see him playing much or at all. Miami sounds like the team for him
These guys like the idea.
"I'm already playing with [Gary] Payton (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=259) and Shaq (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=847), two guys I used to play with on video games," Wade said. "To add Scottie Pippen to the mix, that would be crazy."
"I know it's hard when guys leave the game," Washington's Gilbert Arenas (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3540) said. "They're sitting there analyzing, and they're getting itchy. If he's ready, he's ready. Maybe I can get another autographed jersey from him. Then maybe I can stop running mouth and actually just play the game like every other player. It's a challenge, but I'm up to it. We'll see how it goes from here."

If he can still be a decent defender, I'm down. Cut Sasha or McKie.

I'd say its a pretty tough thing to be a premier athlete in a league and then years later not even be able to get on a team, he probably still has desire to play. That or he needs money, but i'd say the first.

yeah, he loves the game and wants to get back in it.
they should make a 40+ league though.

NSBA, National Senior Basketball Association, they have one for golf. That would be kind of cool to see, but i don't think it'd go anywhere

He averaged well over 20 points still then. Can't blame him that the talent around him wasn't developed yet.

Can't blame him that the talent around him wasn't developed yet.He averaged 22.9 and 20.0 points in both his years in washington. im not blaming him for their teams talent. He just wasnt anywhere near the player he was in Chicago, especially when you are used to Jordan's dominant play. I just didnt find his comeback very entertaining to watch
