I got there early, so I was right up front since I had never seen any of the bands before.
The Higher came out with Rock My Body first, one of their only songs I really enjoyed. I figured I would be bored the rest of the time they played because I am not a big fan of everything else I had heard. I was completely wrong. Every song they played was enjoyable to listen to, and they aren't my type of music.
Escape The Fate came out to a huge response, which was suprising. They started with the Webs We Weave. Ronnie kept looking like he was going to lose his lunch, and making gagging like faces. It was quite disgusting. I don't know if he was sick or not, but he decided to jump in the crowd, at which point he kicked me square in the face, thanks! I can't remember the set list in order, but I believe Sympathy For The Dead was next, and Ronnie's screaming wasn't awful. He kept putting the mic on the crowd for all the singing parts. They also played My Apocalypse, The Guillotine, and went out playing Situations. I was quite amazed they didn't play the only song they have a video for, Truth In Cliche. At one point they brought Seth from The Higher out, and played a bit of Paradise City. All in all it wasn't awful. They have good guitarists, and Ronnie kept his mouth shut a lot.
I Am Ghost is one of my favorite bands. They didn't get the response when they came out, but from a couple people. Kerith the Violinist had many fans though. I thought they stole the show. They came out with the intro to Lover's Requiem, Crossing The River Styx, followed by shredding out Lazarus Sleeps. The singer, Steve, had a great voice, and did everything spot on. Then they played my favorite song by them Killers Like Candy. Then they knocked out one of the first songs I heard by them from their first cd, but remade, We AreAlways Searching. Of Masques and Martyrs was next. Kerith and Steve's singing complimented each other well. They ended out the set with Kiss Me Like You Want, Lovers Requiem, Dark Carnival OF The Immaculate, The Ship Of Pills and Needed Things. They ended with Pretty People Never Lie, which was a hard hitting ending, but probably their best song they played. The only dissappointment was they didn't play my favorite song by them, Civil War and Isolation Thirst.
The Matches came out to the very happy teenie boppers. I didn't realize this band had the fans of FOB. All the little girls started pushing forward from the back, and I couldn't even move to leave. They started yelling take your pants off, and things you would of have heard yelled at the Backstreet Boys about 8 years ago. The set was good, but wasn't able to enjoy anything. They came out dressed in plaid pants, and bedazzled marching band shoes. They played Salty Eyes, which appeared to be the 11 year old emo girl anthem. The best song they played was My Soft and Deep. They did throw in my favorite song by them, Sick Little Suicide. The whole band seemed to like to dance, and the singer needs to wash his hair. The singer stood on the railing, and my gf and I had to hold him up. He basically put all his weight forward, I was tempted to let go. He was also soaked with sweat, and disgusting. They ended with Papercut Skin, and I was relieved because I thought I could leave. I was wrong, the teeny boppers started pushing closer because the singer came to the fence. I ended up catching the drummer's drum stick, which I should have sold to one of the emo girls that shed tears because they didn't catch anything. I finally got out of there.
The Higher played a acoustic set in the back after the show, which I would have stayed for, but I needed a beer from dealing with annoying girls. I hope they start having 21+ shows again soon.

It is a local venue I can drink at. It was $10 for a ticket. It was worth it. I am Ghost ia an amazing the band so it was worth it for me. probably won't compare to the upcoming Trivium and Lamb Of God concert.
