so i see all these bulletins from people (mostly people from high school) that are all getting drunk and broing down for this years Bamboozle. Sure there are some great bands playing. But skate and surf never really had the dumb fratboys getting drunk on the beach thing...Right?

BTW if you dont know what Skate and surf was. It was the orignal Bamboolze. held at this old theater center on the beach at one of the most run down towns is New Jersey. It was the days when Fall Out Boy was playing the small stage and headliners were bands like From Autumn To Ashes. The Get Up Kids, Thrice and "your Favorite Weapon" Brand New. You could leave and come back in any time you wanted to, and it was extremly easy to sneak into, And it just seems that is way more fun then what bamboozle has become.

when i was at bamboozle last year, it just seemed so weird. there were so many big bands and it felt different. then i was at the bamboozle left (by far worst decision ever made). skate and surf was this amazing time in asbury park. im still going to go to bamboozle this year but i have a feeling it could be a bit of a nightmare.

Bigger bands? I wouldn't really go that far.. The biggest band their might have been AFI or TBS... I wouldn't say its a drunkfest, because that is how ALL concerts are... As far as the Fratboy thing goes, I wouldn't agree with that at all.. And whose to say that it wouldn't have happened at Skate and Surf..
I would much rather drive to Rutherford than Asbury Park... The Convention Hall is a nightmare and the sound is atrocious...

This is the natural progression of the music we like, and the new fans it's getting. Deal with it.

The Frat boys here have a thing for shitty music and would never be seen at a show like that.

i agree in going to the meadowlands instead of asbury... that place always creeped me out and the sound was never that great

Drunken frat boys ruined the Dashboard/Brand New tour last fall if the show I went to was anything like the whole tour. I don't really get that vibe about Bamboozle, though...yet.

it's the natural progression. As these bands and the "scene" get bigger it attracts new fans that hear FOB, MCR, Panic!, HGB, GCH type bands on the radio. Also Bamboozle's first year was 2 years ago. All (well not "all" but you get my point) the 16 year olds that attended that are now 18 and have gone to college to become drunken frat boys. Same thing happened to "grunge" and "alternative" in the 90's.

frat boys?? listen to yourselves. the people who don't want to be categorized the most do all of the categorizing. shut up and stop judging people. not just "frat boys" drink in college either. everyone i know is drunk in college and most of them are not in fraternities. they are fans. that is all that matters.

03 was the year of jamisonparker.
enough said.
This year has Weird Al...but when I went last year it was a lot of Hollister kids running around. But looking at the 03 line up that was more kick ass.

I choose Surf and Skate Fest cause i got to hang out with SOCO at the last one and its closer to my house (representing Lavallette, NJ) than Bamboozle.
